- 6 plans compared: Free, SEO, Starter (SEO + AI Search), Pro+ (SEO + AI Search), Advanced (SEO + AI Search), Enterprise
- Free (best for: A look around before a card): $0
- SEO (best for: A freelancer who needs rank tracking more than a prompt quota): $139/mo
- Starter (SEO + AI Search) (best for: A small team that wants daily prompt tracking in the same login): $199/mo
- Pro+ (SEO + AI Search) (best for: Several sites, content checks, and more than one market): $299/mo
The cheapest Semrush plan in 2026 is SEO at $117.33/mo billed annually, or $139/mo monthly. The cheapest plan with a daily AI prompt quota is Starter, at $165.17/mo annually or $199/mo monthly. Pro+ is $299/mo ($248.17/mo annually). Advanced has no public price. Three people on monthly Starter, with AI visibility on every seat, pay $487/mo.
That team total is the number to remember, not the sticker on Starter. Semrush includes one login, so the next person who needs prompt tracking buys a seat and a separate AI license, and those two lines are what a small marketing team actually pays.
Prices and limits below were read on 16 October 2026. Toolradar data: the SEO tools ranking we publish, updated 14 October 2026, evaluated 268 tools and lists Semrush second.
For the product, start with the Semrush review, which covers the tool, while this page covers the bill.
How much does each Semrush plan cost?
| Plan | Best for | Monthly price | Annual rate | What the fee buys |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | A look around before a card | $0 | $0 | 1 demo project, 10 reports a day, no credit card |
| SEO | A freelancer who needs rank tracking more than a prompt quota | $139/mo | $117.33/mo | 5 websites, 500 keywords a day, AI reports, no numbered prompt quota |
| Starter (SEO + AI Search) | A small team that wants daily prompt tracking in the same login | $199/mo | $165.17/mo | 5 websites, 500 keywords, 50 prompts a day, 1 AI brand domain |
| Pro+ (SEO + AI Search) | Several sites, content checks, and more than one market | $299/mo | $248.17/mo | 15 websites, 1,500 keywords, 100 prompts a day, historical SEO data |
| Advanced (SEO + AI Search) | API, share of voice, and a large site list | Custom | Custom | Plan card: 40+ websites, 5,000+ keywords, unlimited prompts |
| Enterprise | Several brands, regions, and a governed team | Custom | Custom | Quote only: SSO, a dedicated manager, multi-million-page crawls |
Annual billing is prepaid for the year, not twelve monthly charges, and the pricing page says it saves up to 17%, a cap that Starter and Pro+ both hit.
The SEO plan misses that cap: a 17% cut on its monthly price would be $115.37, and Semrush charges $117.33 instead. Book that plan from the printed annual rate, because a percentage you calculate yourself will not match the invoice.
The SEO plan
The SEO plan is the entry that still behaves like a rank tracker. It covers 5 websites and 500 keywords tracked daily, plus basic keyword and competitor research, Position Tracking, and Site Audit. That suits a freelancer who lives in rankings, and it is the wrong plan once the job is a daily count of AI mentions.
The card also lists AI search performance, sentiment monitoring, visibility reports for any domain, and custom prompt monitoring. It does not name a daily prompt allowance you can budget, and it leaves off MCP access, content optimization, and share of voice. A brand-mention check belongs on a higher plan, where the cap is printed.
One person who lives in rank tracking can stay here, especially on the annual rate. The moment a second person needs the AI reports every day, you are pricing a seat, and a license if they track prompts.
Our Semrush free trial page covers the 7-day look before either choice. Semrush's subscriptions guide says you can cancel during that trial at no charge, and exports stay off until you pay.
Starter, the first plan with a prompt quota
Starter is the SEO toolkit plus a real AI Visibility allowance: 50 prompts tracked daily, one domain for AI brand performance, 300 AI visibility reports a day, and an AI-ready Site Audit. The SEO side matches the cheaper plan on websites and keywords, then adds keyword optimization tools, competitor insights, and MCP access so an assistant can query the account.
Price this plan first if the team needs a named prompt cap, but the allowance is a shared pool, not a per-person allotment, so a second writer does not double it. A content lead checking a brand against ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google's AI answers can staff against a known number, instead of a custom-prompts line with no cap.
Skip Starter if you only track rankings, because you would pay for a quota you will not open.
The annual invoice is the figure for a budget spreadsheet. Twelve months at that annual rate comes to $1,982.04, against $2,388 if you stay monthly, and the difference is $405.96 for the same limits. Semrush does not spread the annual charge across the year, so you only save if you can pay up front.
Pro+, when one site is no longer the work
Pro+ is the step up when one site and the lower keyword cap are no longer the work. It keeps everything in Starter and raises the account to 15 websites, 1,500 keywords tracked daily, and 100 prompts a day.
Historical SEO data, content optimization, keyword cannibalization checks, and tracking across more than one location or device show up here, which is what a team with several properties actually uses.
Twelve months at the $248.17 annual rate comes to $2,978.04, against $3,588 on the monthly rate, and that gap is $609.96. The prompt allowance doubles, which helps if two markets share one login, but they still share one pool. A third brand that needs its own AI domain is an add-on, not a higher plan.
Pro+ is the wrong buy for a single site that only needs Starter's prompt quota. You would pay for 1,000 extra keywords and content tools a solo editor may never open.
Advanced and Enterprise
Advanced does not publish a price. The card says Custom and sends you to a demo, so there is no list price for a budget sheet. On top of Pro+ it lists 40+ websites, 5,000+ keywords a day, SEO share of voice, API integration, team users, reporting, and unlimited prompts.
Enterprise is a second custom quote for several brands and regions, with unlimited projects, custom prompt volume, forecasting, multi-million-page crawls, SSO, audit logs, a dedicated manager, and 24/7 support.
Treat both as sales conversations, not as a checkout total. There is no self-serve Advanced rate, and a quoted price has to match the order form, because the card and the comparison grid already disagree. A team that only needs API access or share of voice has no cheaper public step. Everything short of those two items is still on Pro+.
How much does a second login cost?
Every paid plan includes one user, the owner, and the next person is a paid seat. Semrush's user management guide prices that person by tier: $45/mo on Starter and $80/mo on Pro+, and plans that include the SEO toolkit start at that entry rate.
The same guide still prints $100/mo for an Advanced user, even though the Advanced card is a quote that already mentions team users, so ask which description the contract uses before you sign.
On Starter, Pro+, and Advanced, the extra user gets the SEO tools in the plan, but the seat does not include AI visibility. Prompt tracking and brand performance for that person are another $99/mo, the AI Visibility Toolkit license, bought per user. A hire who only pulls rank reports can skip that license, and a hire who checks prompts cannot, because the seat alone will not open Brand Performance.
View-only folder access is free, which fits someone who reads reports and never edits them. A guest who can edit shared work needs a real seat, or their own subscription. Seats also share the plan's keyword and prompt allowances, so five people on Starter split the 500 rather than each receiving their own.

How much does a three-person team pay?
Take a content lead, an SEO, and a freelancer who all need prompt tracking, on monthly Starter. That headcount is where the sticker price stops being the bill.
The owner sits inside the Starter plan, so only the other two people add fees. Each of those two is a $45 seat plus the AI license priced above, which is $144 a person, and together they come to $288. Add the monthly Starter rate and the month comes to $487 when every login tracks prompts.
Drop the AI license for the two extra people, leave prompt tracking on the owner's login only, and the month falls to the Starter rate plus $90, which comes to $289. That is the same plan and the same three names, and the $198 difference is whether the freelancer can open Brand Performance. A contractor who only pulls rank reports should stay off that license.
On Pro+, the same three people with AI on every login pay two $80 seats and two of those AI licenses, which is $160 plus $198, or $358 on top of the plan. The month comes to $657 once that plan price is included. Pro+ only makes sense at that headcount if you also need the 15 websites, the 1,500 keywords, or the content tools.
You do not buy it to make the seats cheaper, because the seats get more expensive as the plan does.
These totals are monthly list prices from the user guide, and they do not assume an annual discount on the seat or the AI license, because that guide prices both as monthly add-ons.
How Semrush compares on price
Same scenario, one person paying monthly, as read on each vendor's pricing page on 16 October 2026. The prompt cadence and the keyword cap change the job, so a lower sticker is not automatically the better buy.
| Tool and plan | Monthly price | Users in the price | Prompt tracking | Extra person |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Semrush SEO | $139/mo | 1 | Custom prompt monitoring, no daily quota printed | From the Starter seat fee on SEO-toolkit plans |
| Semrush Starter | $199/mo | 1 | 50 prompts a day | $45/mo, plus the AI license if they need those tools |
| Ahrefs Lite | $129/mo | 1, up to 2 more | 5 tracked AI prompts | $40/mo each |
| Moz Pro Standard | $99/mo | 1 | 150 prompts, tracked weekly | $49/mo on any Moz Pro plan |
| SE Ranking Core | $129/mo | 1 manager seat | 100 prompts a day | From $16/mo |
| SpyFu Basic | $39/mo | 1 | AI brand monitoring, RivalFlow on 0 sites | $15/mo on the pricing table |
Ahrefs Lite includes 750 tracked keywords, 100,000 crawl credits, and those 5 AI prompts, with the second and third users at $40/mo and a hard stop at two extras. Three people on Lite come to $129 plus two extra seats, $209/mo, and the prompt allowance stays at 5. That bill fits a team that can live with a handful of tracked prompts.
Ahrefs pricing goes through Standard at $249/mo, where 2,000 keywords and 10 prompts sit, and extra users are $60/mo. A head-to-head on the data, rather than the invoice, is Ahrefs vs Semrush.
Moz Pro Standard bills $79/mo when you pay yearly, and $950 for the first year, against the monthly row in the table. You get one user, 3 sites, 300 keywords, and 150 prompts tracked weekly across GPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode, and Perplexity, which is a weekly check rather than a daily quota.
Extra seats are $49/mo at every tier, and three people on Standard, the included seat plus two extras, come to $197/mo. Moz also lists an entry plan at $49/mo for a single website, without the Standard quotas, and that entry fits only when one site is the whole job. The Moz Pro review covers the feature side of that choice.
SE Ranking Core is $129/mo, or $103.20/mo on the annual rate, with 10 projects, 2,000 keywords a day, 100 prompts a day, and one manager seat. That suits a team that wants a daily prompt count and can start with one manager.
Extra manager seats start at $16/mo, so three seats start at the Core monthly price plus $32, which comes to $161/mo, and can run higher than that floor. Growth is $279/mo, or $223.20/mo annually, with 3 seats included, 5,000 keywords, and 250 prompts, so a team of three can skip the seat math on that tier.
The trial is 14 days, payments are non-refundable except when the service was not delivered, and one active session is the rule until you buy seats. See the SE Ranking review and the SE Ranking vs Semrush comparison on Toolradar.
SpyFu Basic is $39/mo, or $29/mo on the annual plan, with one user, 5,000 keywords tracked weekly, and a 30-day refund. That is the cheap seat when weekly rank data is enough and daily prompts are not the job.
The pricing table lists extra users at $15/mo, and Team/Agency is $249/mo, or $187/mo annually, with 5 users included, so a three-person group fits inside that plan without a seat surcharge.
Pro + AI shows $59 for the first month and $89/mo on the annual plan, with extra users at $30. That first-month figure is not an ongoing monthly rate, so leave it out of a yearly budget, and read the longer profile on SpyFu's directory page.
On a one-person monthly bill, SpyFu Basic and Moz's $49 entry are the low numbers, and they do not include Starter's daily prompt quota. On a three-person bill where everyone needs AI tools, Semrush Starter at $487 is the high number in this set.
SE Ranking's Core floor and Ahrefs Lite's three-user total both come in lower, with different keyword caps and a much smaller Ahrefs prompt count. Pick the limit you will actually hit, then the invoice.
If the search is for a tool that is not Semrush, the Semrush alternatives list is the migration page, and this one stays on Semrush's own rate card.
Add-ons that change the bill
The AI Visibility Toolkit, sold on its own, is $99/mo per domain. It tracks 25 prompts on one brand domain, and it has no trial. A further prompt block, the same size as Starter's daily allowance, is $60/mo, and another domain is the same domain fee again.
A marketer who does not need rank tracking can start here instead of Starter, because the allowance is half of Starter's daily quota and the rank-tracking toolkit is absent. Our AI visibility pricing roundup covers tools that only do this job, and the GEO tools list is the wider set.
My Reports is a per-report fee, $10/mo for a Base report and $20/mo for a Pro report, on Semrush's subscriptions guide. A client who wants a white-label report every Monday needs a Pro report, not a feature hiding inside Pro+. Five of those are $100 a month before the plan.
A branded profile on the Agency Partners platform is $90/mo. Traffic and Market is the expensive seat, with an additional user starting at $289/mo. That fee does not replace the SEO seat fee if the account also has the SEO toolkit. Skip both if the work is rank tracking and prompts, because they are how a Starter plan becomes a stack.
Ahrefs, Moz, and SE Ranking each have a Toolradar profile if you want the directory view next to these invoices. For how AI search tools fit a content workflow, the best AI SEO tools piece is the map, not a second price list.
How we checked these prices
Plan rates and limits were read on 16 October 2026 on Semrush's SEO and AI Search pricing page.
Seat prices, the 7-day trial rules, and the report and agency fees were read the same day on the user management guide, the subscriptions guide, and the AI Visibility Toolkit guide.
Competitor rates were read the same day on Ahrefs pricing, Moz Pro pricing, SE Ranking's subscription page, and SpyFu pricing.
The 268-tool count is Toolradar's SEO ranking as updated on 14 October 2026. Team totals are arithmetic on those published rates, for one stated headcount, not a negotiated quote. We did not run the products. Louis Corneloup, who founded Toolradar and Dupple, edited this page.
The editorial policy and how we rate explain what a pricing page will and will not claim. Re-check the order form before you pay. Semrush's Advanced card and its comparison grid do not currently match.
FAQ
How much does Semrush cost per month in 2026?
The SEO plan is $139/mo, or $117.33/mo billed annually, for one user who needs rank tracking. Starter is $199/mo, or $165.17/mo annually, and it is the first plan with a daily prompt quota. Pro+ is $299/mo, or $248.17/mo annually, for several sites, while Advanced and Enterprise are custom quotes. The free plan is $0, with one demo project and 10 reports a day, and it is only a look around.
How much does Semrush cost per user?
Starter adds a person at $45/mo and Pro+ at $80/mo, on top of the owner's included seat, and those seats share the plan's pools. AI visibility for that extra person is another $99/mo, so someone who checks prompts costs a seat plus a license.
A three-person Starter team that needs prompt tracking on every login pays $487/mo. Leave the AI license off the two extra seats and the same team pays $289/mo, which is the bill when only the owner opens Brand Performance.
Is there a free Semrush plan?
Yes, it costs $0, includes one demo project and 10 reports a day across the main tools, and does not ask for a card. Paid plans also offer a 7-day trial you can cancel before it bills, with exports disabled during the trial. The free plan is a limited account, not a paused version of Starter, so it will not carry a client project.
Does Semrush discount annual billing?
Yes, by up to 17%, paid upfront for the year rather than as twelve smaller charges. Starter's annual rate is exactly 17% under the monthly price, while the SEO plan's annual rate is a smaller discount than that advertised maximum. Seats and the AI license are priced as monthly add-ons in the user guide, so this page does not apply the annual discount to them.
Is Semrush cheaper than Ahrefs?
Not on the three-person scenario where every Semrush login needs AI visibility. Three users on Ahrefs Lite are $209, with 5 tracked AI prompts rather than Starter's daily quota, so the lower bill buys a much smaller prompt allowance. Ahrefs Standard is $249/mo for one user before its $60 seats. The cheaper invoice and the larger prompt quota are not the same plan.
What is the cheapest Semrush plan that tracks AI prompts every day?
Starter, at $165.17/mo on annual billing, with 50 prompts a day, is the cheapest plan that names a daily quota, and the monthly rate is higher if you cannot prepay. The SEO plan monitors custom prompts and does not print a daily allowance, so you cannot staff a prompt count on it.
The standalone AI Visibility Toolkit tracks 25 prompts on one domain, with no rank tracking and no trial, and it is priced per domain rather than as a full Semrush plan.
Does Semrush Advanced have a public price in 2026?
No, the pricing page marks Advanced as Custom and points to a demo, so there is no list price to copy into a budget. The card lists 40+ websites, 5,000+ keywords, and unlimited prompts. The comparison grid on that page lists 40 websites and 5,000 keywords.
The user guide still shows $100/mo for an extra Advanced user. Get the limits and the seat price on the order form, because those descriptions are not one offer.
