Metricool Pricing 2026: Free, Starter, Advanced and Add-Ons

Metricool pricing in 2026: Free for 1 brand, Starter from $20/mo yearly for 5 brands, Advanced from $53/mo for 15. Every brand tier, the X add-on and real costs.

Metricool Pricing 2026: Free, Starter, Advanced and Add-Ons

Metricool costs $20 a month billed yearly ($25 billed monthly) on Starter for up to 5 brands, $36 yearly for 10 brands, and Advanced runs from $53 to $159 a month yearly for 15 to 50 brands. The Free plan covers one brand. X (Twitter) is never included: it costs $10 a month per connected account on any paid plan.

Every figure here was read on Metricool's pricing page and its billing help articles on 18 October 2026. Prices exclude VAT, which Metricool adds at checkout. The pricing unit is the brand, and that one choice decides whether Metricool is the cheapest tool on your shortlist or a mid-priced one: an agency with many small clients gets a bargain, while a single company paying for X on every account loses most of the edge.

Toolradar data: Toolradar, the software directory we run, counts 158 social media management tools as of 17 October 2026, and the median cheapest paid plan among the 47 that publish a price is $20.52 a month. Metricool's 5-brand Starter, on yearly billing, lands right at that median while covering five clients instead of one. The category is ranked on Toolradar's social media management page, and Metricool has its own Toolradar profile.

How much does Metricool cost per brand?

Divide each tier by its brand cap and the pattern is clear: the per-brand rate barely moves. On yearly billing, a full 5-brand Starter works out to $4.00 per brand a month, and a full 50-brand Advanced to $3.18. The bigger tiers are not a volume discount so much as a feature upgrade sold at almost the same unit price.

Tier Yearly, per brand a month Monthly, per brand a month Yearly total Saving vs monthly
Starter, 5 brands $4.00 $5.00 $240 $60 a year (20%)
Starter, 10 brands $3.60 $4.50 $432 $108 a year (20%)
Advanced, 15 brands $3.53 $4.47 $636 $168 a year (21%)
Advanced, 25 brands $3.40 $4.28 $1,020 $264 a year (21%)
Advanced, 50 brands $3.18 $4.20 $1,908 $612 a year (24%)

This table is our arithmetic on the list prices above, assuming each tier is full. Two things follow for the buyer.

First, the "save up to 24%" banner applies only to the 50-brand tier. Every smaller tier saves 20 to 21% on yearly billing, so budget on that figure unless you are buying the top tier.

Second, a partly filled tier is where the per-brand math breaks. An agency with 11 clients has to buy the 15-brand Advanced tier, the next step up from the 10-brand Starter, at a higher monthly rate on yearly billing. That eleventh client adds $17 a month, and the agency pays for four empty brand slots plus team features it may not need yet.

What a brand includes, and what it does not

A brand in Metricool is one client or one company. Each brand connects one profile per network: Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, Google Business Profile, a website or blog, and LinkedIn on paid plans. Facebook Ads, Google Ads and TikTok Ads accounts connect per brand too.

That is why the brand unit is generous for a typical small-business client. A café that runs Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Google Business Profile is one brand, not four channels. On a per-channel tool such as Buffer, the same café counts four times.

The exceptions are where the extra spending happens:

  • X is an add-on on every plan, priced per connected account. Free cannot connect X at all.
  • LinkedIn needs a paid plan. Free excludes it, so a B2B company cannot stay on Free.
  • A second profile on the same network (two Instagram accounts for one company) means a second brand.

Our Metricool review covers how the planner, inbox and reports work day to day; this page stays on the bill.

The add-ons that change the bill

X (Twitter), $10 per account a month

The X add-on guide prices it at $10 a month, or $120 a year, for each connected X account, on Starter or higher. Unlike the plans, the X add-on gets no yearly discount: Metricool says the total is the same whichever cycle you pay on.

The price doubled this year. Metricool's current rate took effect on 13 July 2026; accounts that had X add-ons before July keep the old $5 a month ($60 a year), but lose it permanently if they ever drop to zero X add-ons, including by cancelling and resubscribing.

The effect on a small agency is large. Five clients on yearly Starter cost $240 a year for the plan; give all five an X account and the add-ons cost $600 more, so X becomes 71% of an $840 annual bill.

Advanced Analytics, from $12 a month

The Advanced Analytics add-on starts at $12 a month on Starter and $36 a month on Advanced, and Metricool shows the exact amount at checkout. It is charged once per account, not per brand, and unlocks unlimited Metricool Studio views, unlimited campaign dashboards and 30 days of detailed post analytics across all brands.

Without it, paid plans get 3 campaign dashboards per brand and 2 Studio views. Most small teams can live inside that; an agency that builds a custom dashboard per client campaign hits it in the first month.

Hashtag Tracker, $25 a day

Hashtag tracking on Instagram or X is sold by the day, on top of any plan. That pricing suits a product launch or a live event, not always-on monitoring: a full week of tracking costs $175, more than six months of the 5-brand Starter on yearly billing.

Free vs Starter vs Advanced: which plan fits

Free, for one brand testing the planner

Free is a working tool for one brand: 20 scheduled posts a month, 30 days of analytics, 5 competitor profiles, the AI assistant with 5 credits a month and the Metricool MCP connection for AI clients. Twenty posts is about five a week across all networks combined, so a brand posting daily on two networks runs out in ten days.

The hard limit is the network list. No LinkedIn and no X means Free suits a consumer brand on Instagram and TikTok, not a B2B company. Our free social media schedulers list compares that cap with other no-cost tools.

Starter, for freelancers and small rosters

Starter removes the post cap (unlimited publishing, subject to Metricool's fair use policy), adds LinkedIn, keeps unlimited analytics history, analyzes up to 100 competitors and exports PDF and PPT reports. The AI assistant rises to 20 credits per brand a month.

What it lacks is the agency layer. Team and client management, role management and post approval sit on Advanced, and so does the Metricool API. A freelancer who approves their own posts fits Starter; an agency whose clients sign off content in the tool does not.

Advanced, for agencies with approvals

Advanced adds team and client management, roles, the post approval system, customizable report templates, the Data Studio connector and API access for Zapier and Make. It also includes complete X analytics (Starter gets a reduced version, and both need the X add-on), 35 AI credits per brand a month and 15 days of detailed analytics.

The entry point is 15 brands. A five-client agency that needs approvals pays for 15 brand slots it will not fill, which is the strongest reason to look at a per-user tool instead.

Metricool cost scenarios

Buyer Plan Brands X accounts Yearly cost Monthly-billing cost per year
One brand, no LinkedIn Free 1 0 Free Free
Freelancer, 5 clients Starter 5 0 $240 $300
Freelancer, 5 clients, all on X Starter 5 5 $840 $900
Agency, 10 clients Starter 10 0 $432 $540
Agency, 15 clients with approvals Advanced 15 0 $636 $804
Agency, 15 clients, all on X Advanced 15 15 $2,436 $2,604
Agency, 50 clients Advanced 50 0 $1,908 $2,520

The yearly column uses the yearly list price times 12; the last column uses the monthly list price times 12. X add-ons are $120 per account a year in both columns. Advanced Analytics is left out because its price varies by plan and is quoted at checkout.

Metricool vs Buffer, Later, Hootsuite and Agorapulse

Tool Entry paid price Pricing unit What the entry price covers
Metricool $20/mo, billed yearly Brands Starter, up to 5 brands, one profile per network each
Buffer $5 per channel a month, billed yearly Channels Essentials, one user, unlimited scheduled posts
Later $18.75/mo, billed yearly Social sets Starter, 1 social set of 8 profiles, 1 user, 30 posts per profile
Hootsuite $99/mo Users Standard, up to 10 social accounts
Agorapulse $79 per user a month, billed yearly Users Standard, 10 social profiles

Rival prices were read on Buffer's pricing file, Later's pricing page, Hootsuite's plans page and Agorapulse's pricing page on 18 October 2026.

For a roster of small clients, Metricool is the cheapest of the five by a wide margin. Take an agency with 5 clients on 5 networks each, 25 profiles in total, on yearly billing:

  • Metricool Starter covers all 25 profiles at its entry price, and Advanced adds approvals.
  • Buffer counts 25 channels: $100 a month on Essentials for one user, $150 on Team, from Buffer's own worked examples.
  • Later Starter cannot add social sets, so the agency needs Growth at $37.50 with 2 sets, plus 3 extra sets at $11.25 each: $71.25 a month.
  • Agorapulse Standard includes 10 profiles; 15 extra profiles at $10 each bring one user to $229 a month.
  • Hootsuite Standard stops at 10 accounts, so 25 accounts mean Professional, which starts at $199 a month.

The order flips for one company on a few networks. A single brand on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn costs $15 a month on yearly Buffer Essentials against Metricool's 5-brand Starter, and Buffer also posts to X without a surcharge. Per-user tools win when the team is one or two people who need a deep shared inbox or listening, which Metricool's planner-first plans do not try to match. The Buffer pricing breakdown, Hootsuite pricing guide and Agorapulse review cost those tools out in detail, and Hootsuite vs Buffer compares the two best-known names.

The terms that cost money later

Refunds cover the first purchase only. Metricool's refund policy gives 15 calendar days from the first paid purchase; renewals are not refundable, and cancelling an annual plan midway brings no prorated refund. Pick yearly only once you are sure of the brand count.

Annual to monthly waits a full year. Switching from monthly to yearly applies at once, with unused time credited, but switching from yearly to monthly only takes effect at the end of the annual term and goes through support.

Downgrades keep your oldest brands. If you drop to a smaller tier, Metricool keeps brands by creation date, so delete the clients you have lost before you downgrade or you may keep the wrong ones.

Flows are free for now. Comment-to-DM, keyword replies and story-reply automations are listed at no extra cost "for a limited time" on every plan. Treat them as a likely future add-on when you plan next year's budget.

Unlimited means fair use. Starter and Advanced publishing is unlimited subject to Metricool's fair use policy, and X metrics are stored for 30 days only, even on paid plans with otherwise unlimited history.

Is Metricool worth the price in 2026?

Yes for freelancers and agencies with several small clients who post mainly on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and Google Business Profile. A per-brand rate between $3 and $4 a month on yearly billing is hard to beat, and the planner, reports and competitor tracking come in the same login.

It is a weaker deal in three cases: X is central to most clients (the add-on can cost more than the plan), a small agency needs approvals before it has 15 clients, or one company on three networks just needs a scheduler. For those buyers, the best social media management tools ranking, the Buffer review, Later alternatives and cheaper Sprout Social alternatives cover the options.

FAQ

How much does Metricool cost per month in 2026?

Metricool Starter costs $20 a month billed yearly or $25 billed monthly for up to 5 brands, and $36 yearly or $45 monthly for 10. Advanced costs $53 to $159 a month on yearly billing for 15 to 50 brands. The Free plan costs nothing for one brand. Prices exclude VAT and were read on Metricool's pricing page on 18 October 2026.

Is Metricool free?

Yes, for one brand. The Free plan schedules 20 posts a month, keeps 30 days of analytics, tracks 5 competitors and includes the AI assistant, but it cannot connect LinkedIn or X. Most freelancers outgrow it as soon as they take a second client.

How much is the Metricool X (Twitter) add-on?

The X add-on costs $10 a month, or $120 a year, per connected X account, and only Starter or higher can buy it. The rate doubled on 13 July 2026; older accounts keep $5 a month as long as they never remove all their X add-ons. There is no yearly discount on it.

Does Metricool offer a discount for yearly billing?

Yes. Yearly billing saves 20% on both Starter tiers, about 21% on the 15- and 25-brand Advanced tiers and 24% on the 50-brand tier, which is where the "up to 24%" headline comes from. Add-ons do not get the discount.

What is the difference between Metricool Starter and Advanced?

Starter covers 5 or 10 brands with unlimited posting, LinkedIn, reports and unlimited analytics history. Advanced covers 15, 25 or 50 brands and adds team and client management, roles, post approval, report templates, the Data Studio connector and the Metricool API. Agencies whose clients approve posts in the tool need Advanced.

Is Metricool cheaper than Buffer?

For several clients, yes: 25 profiles across 5 brands fit in yearly Metricool Starter, its cheapest paid tier, against $100 on yearly Buffer Essentials. For one company on three networks, Buffer is cheaper at $15 a month yearly, and it includes X without an add-on.

Can I get a refund from Metricool?

Only on your first purchase. Metricool gives 15 calendar days to withdraw after the first paid purchase of a plan or add-on; automatic renewals are not refundable, and annual plans get no prorated refund when cancelled midway.
