TL;DR

Later Growth is the cheapest of the seven for a marketer and an approver: $450 a year on annual billing. That is two users, 16 profiles and approval workflows at $37.50 a month, verified on later.com in October 2026. Hootsuite's approval tier, Advanced, is priced up to $399 per user a month, so the same two seats cost up to $9,576 a year.

Loomly Starter ($588 a year) and Vista Social Professional ($950 a year) come next, and both include approvals on the plan that fits. Agorapulse ($2,856) and Sprout Social ($7,176) cost more, because both price every login at a full seat. Count your profiles before you pick, since Later Growth tops out at 16.

+25 profiles leave room beyond the ten in this scenario.
+Every plan carries a 14-day trial, so Pro can be tested before the annual total is paid.

PricingProfessional $299/seat/mo as printed: unlimited profiles, with two seats at that rate.

+Professional has unlimited social profiles, so ten accounts are no constraint.

What it is

A Hootsuite alternative is a social scheduler that publishes to your profiles, routes posts through approval and reports results, usually at a lower per-seat cost.

Most of the savings come from seats. Hootsuite charges per user, so two logins at its top rate cost more than any alternative here before a single post is scheduled.

Later, Loomly and Vista sell a fixed number of logins with each plan, and Buffer Team puts unlimited users on a per-channel bill.

How it works

Count three things before you open a pricing page: the logins that must approve or publish, the social profiles you will connect, and whether an approval step exists on the plan you can afford. The first two set the plan.

The third removes the cheapest plan from several vendors' cards.

Then run the arithmetic once per vendor: plan price times logins times twelve, or the vendor's printed annual total where it gives one. Our scenario is one marketer who drafts and one approver who signs off, with ten profiles.

Change either number and the order moves.

The approval test removes plans quickly. Hootsuite's Standard and Professional have no approval workflow on the plans page, so the approver needs Advanced. SocialBee's Accelerate has an approval system but only one user, so a second login needs Pro. Buffer's Essentials has one user and no approvals, so the approver needs Team.

Why it matters

The approver is the expensive seat. Hootsuite starts approval workflows at Advanced, and it prints that tier as an up-to figure per user a month on annual billing.

Two Standard seats look cheaper, but Standard buys no approval step, so the sign-off you are paying for does not exist on that bill.

Profile caps decide the tier. Later Growth covers 16 profiles, Vista Professional 15, Loomly Starter 12 and Agorapulse Professional 10.

Ten profiles fits all four, but growth past 12 or 15 forces a bigger plan. Later Scale, with 48 profiles and four users, is the next Later step, and its price ties SocialBee Pro for setups of 16 to 25 profiles.

Seat counts differ between card and FAQ. Vista Social's Professional card lists two users, while its FAQ says three.

Price the card, then confirm the seat count at checkout before you budget for the approver.

Profile ceilings
Later Growth 16, Vista Professional 15, SocialBee Pro 25, Loomly Starter 12, Agorapulse Professional 10, and Sprout Social Professional is unlimited.
Trials and free plans
Buffer Free covers 3 channels and 1 user. Hootsuite, Later, Vista Social and SocialBee print 14-day trials, and Sprout Social and Agorapulse print 30-day trials with no card.

Pricing

Verified on each vendor's pricing page, October 2026, as printed in USD. The arithmetic is shown once. Hootsuite Advanced at up to $399 x 2 users x 12 months = up to $9,576 a year. Later Growth at $37.50 x 12 = $450 a year. Loomly Starter at $49 x 12 = $588 a year.

Vista Social Professional at $950 a year. SocialBee Pro at $990 a year. Buffer Team at $120 per channel a year x 10 channels = $1,200, with unlimited users. Agorapulse Professional at $119 x 2 users x 12 months = $2,856.

Sprout Social Professional at $299 x 2 seats x 12 months = $7,176 at the printed per-seat rate.

Where the order flips: at 16 to 25 profiles, Later Growth no longer covers the profile count, and Later Scale, at $82.50 a month billed yearly, ties SocialBee Pro.

Above 25 profiles, Buffer's bill rises by $120 a year for each extra channel, while Vista's next step is Advanced at $1,910 a year for 30 profiles and three users.

How we ranked: each plan that meets all four tests (two logins, ten profiles, an approval step and annual billing, in USD) is priced and sorted by its annual cost.

Plans that fail one test stay in the table with the reason. Four tools with no figure we could price for this setup are left out.

Mistakes to avoid
×Pricing the approver as a Standard seat. Standard is the cheapest Hootsuite plan, and it has no approval workflow.
×Buying Later Starter for two people. It has one user and no approval workflow, so it fails both the seat test and the approval test.
×Choosing SocialBee Accelerate for an approver. It has one user per workspace, so a second login needs the Pro plan.
Expert tips
→Count profiles per plan before you count money. Later Growth stops at 16, Vista Professional at 15 and Loomly Starter at 12.
→Ask Hootsuite for a written two-seat Advanced quote. Its plans page prints only an up-to figure, so the savings in this guide are measured against that ceiling.
→Trial the approval step, not only the scheduler. Later, Vista, SocialBee and Hootsuite print 14-day trials, long enough to run one sign-off cycle.

The bottom line

Later Growth is the cheapest seat-and-approval plan here, and it covers ten profiles with room to 16. Loomly Starter and Vista Social Professional are the next choices, and both include approvals on the plan that fits.

Choose SocialBee Pro when you need three logins, and Buffer Team when you expect the channel count to rise and want unlimited users on one bill.

Keep Hootsuite only when a feature you need is worth the Advanced seat for the approver, and price that seat before you renew.

Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest Hootsuite alternative in 2026?

Later Growth, at $37.50 a month billed yearly, for two users, 16 profiles and approval workflows. It is the cheapest of the seven priced here, verified on later.com in October 2026. Growth stops at 16 profiles, and the next Later step, Scale, is $82.50 a month billed yearly.

How much does Hootsuite cost for two users?

Hootsuite prints Advanced as up to $399 per user a month on annual billing, and Advanced is the lowest plan with approval workflows on its plans page. Two seats come to up to $9,576 a year. Standard, at $99 a user, costs $2,376 for two seats, but it has no approval step.

Is there a free Hootsuite alternative?

Buffer Free covers 3 channels and 1 user, with 10 scheduled posts per channel. It has no approval flow, so a two-person sign-off needs Team, at $10 a channel a month. Later, Vista Social, SocialBee and Hootsuite print trials instead of a free plan.

Which Hootsuite alternatives include approval workflows?

Later Growth, Loomly Starter, Vista Social Professional, SocialBee Pro and Buffer Team include approvals on the plan that fits two users. Agorapulse Professional has one-step approvals only, and multi-step workflows sit on its Custom quote. Sprout Social's pricing page prints no approval step.

Does annual billing save money on these tools?

Often, but not on every card. Loomly, Vista Social, SocialBee and Agorapulse print both a monthly rate and a lower yearly rate. Later prints only the yearly rate. Buffer's printed yearly Team figure equals twelve monthly payments, so billing yearly saves nothing there.

Why is Hootsuite expensive for a two-person team?

Hootsuite prices each user, and approvals start at Advanced. Both seats therefore sit at the Advanced rate, which is up to $399 a month each on annual billing, even if only one person drafts posts.
