Sprout Social Pricing 2026: Per-Seat Plans and What They Cost a Team
Sprout Social pricing in 2026: Essentials $79/seat/mo yearly, Standard $199, Professional $299, Advanced $399. What a three-person team really pays.

Sprout Social costs $79 per seat a month on its Essentials plan in 2026, billed annually. Standard is $199, Professional $299 and Advanced $399 per seat a month on the same yearly terms, and Enterprise is a custom quote. Every person who logs in pays the full seat, so a three-person team that needs post approvals starts at $897/mo on Professional.
Those rates, the month-to-month prices and the feature limits below were read on 18 October 2026 on Sprout Social's pricing page, including its plan comparison chart and FAQ. The comparison seats come from Hootsuite's plans page and Buffer's pricing page, read the same day.
Toolradar data: of the 156 social media management tools in Toolradar's October 2026 snapshot, Sprout Social and Hootsuite tie as the most cross-shopped names, each listed as an alternative by 68 other tools. Only 44% of the category offers a free plan, and Sprout is not one of them. The median entry price among the 89 tools with a recorded price is $19.99/mo, so even the cheapest Sprout seat sits far above the middle of the market. The figures come from Toolradar's social media management statistics, and the directory record is Sprout Social on Toolradar.
At a glance
| Plan | Annual billing | Monthly billing | Profiles | What it adds |

| Standard | $199/seat/mo | $249/seat/mo | 5 | All-in-one inbox, 10 brand keywords, review management, 90 days of conversation history |
| Professional | $299/seat/mo | $399/seat/mo | Unlimited | Message approval workflow, bulk scheduling, tagging, competitor reports, full history |
| Advanced | $399/seat/mo | $499/seat/mo | Unlimited | External approvals without a login, reply approvals, sentiment, Salesforce and Zendesk |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Unlimited | SSO setup service, white-glove onboarding, priority support |
All self-serve prices are per seat, as of Oct 2026. Annual billing is one upfront payment for the whole term, and Sprout says split payments do not get the same discount.
How much does one Sprout Social seat cost?
A Sprout plan is a seat, not a bundle of profiles. The seat price repeats for every login, and nothing on the card lowers it for someone who only reads reports. A solo social lead is the one buyer for whom the card price is the whole bill.
Essentials
Essentials is the entry seat for a marketer who publishes and reports, and does not answer comments inside Sprout. It connects five social profiles, includes the collaborative calendar, the Sprout Queue at 10 messages a day, ViralPost send-time optimization, Canva and Google Drive imports, and profile and post-level reporting. Each seat gets 100 Trellis AI credits a month, the same allowance as every self-serve plan.
The comparison chart leaves the all-in-one inbox, brand keyword monitoring and review moderation unmarked for Essentials. That is the real line between this seat and Standard: if replies and mentions are part of the job, Essentials is the wrong plan. A year at the annual rate is $948. Month-to-month, at $99, the same year costs $1,188, so the flexibility is a $240 premium per seat.
Standard
Standard is the first seat with a shared social inbox, and it keeps the five-profile ceiling. It adds real-time keyword and location monitoring with 10 brand keywords per group, review moderation for Google Business, Trustpilot, Yelp, TripAdvisor and others, case management, reply collision detection and WhatsApp. Conversation history stops at 90 days.
The weak spots are workflow, not channels. Standard has no message approval workflow, no bulk scheduling, no campaign tagging and no competitor reports. A brand that runs one person per account and never needs a manager to release a post can live here. At $249 month-to-month, the annual commitment saves $50 a seat each month, or $600 a year.
Professional
Professional is the plan most teams end up on, and Sprout flags it as the most popular. It removes the profile cap, turns on the message approval workflow and advanced publishing permissions, and adds bulk scheduling, Instagram grid planning, campaign and message tagging, saved replies, custom link tracking and a digital asset library. Reporting gains competitor reports for Facebook, X and Instagram, paid social reports, tag reports and custom report branding. Conversation history becomes full history.
The catch is that approvals work only between people who hold a seat. A client or legal reviewer who needs to sign off must either take a Professional seat or wait for Advanced. Month-to-month, Professional costs $100 more per seat each month than the annual rate.
Advanced
Advanced is the seat for agencies and customer care teams. It adds the external approval workflow, which lets stakeholders review posts without logging in to Sprout, plus approvals for replies, sentiment classification, message spike alerts, chatbots, case routing, team productivity reports and scheduled report delivery. It is also the first plan with the Sprout API and the Salesforce, Zendesk, HubSpot, Marketo and Microsoft Dynamics 365 integrations.
The Sprout Queue rises to 30 messages a day here, from 20 on Professional. Month-to-month, Advanced is $499 per seat.
Enterprise
Enterprise publishes no list price. The card lists white-glove onboarding, a plan tailored to the business, a dedicated service for SSO setup and priority support. A security review that requires single sign-on has to price this tier through sales.
What the seat price leaves out
Listening and Premium Analytics are separate add-ons, available from Standard upward, and Sprout prints no price for either on the pricing page. A team that buys Sprout to track untagged conversations at scale cannot finish that budget from the public card. The same goes for Employee Advocacy, sold from Standard upward, and Professional Services packages.
Trellis Plus is the one priced add-on. Every seat includes 100 Trellis credits a month, reset monthly, and heavier AI use needs Trellis Plus at $28 per user a month on annual billing or $35 on monthly billing. Credit use depends on how broad the question is, so a team that asks Trellis for multi-year cross-network analysis will burn credits faster than one asking for a single sentiment chart.
The trial is 30 days with no credit card, and it ends with a request to pick a plan and enter payment details. You can switch plans during the trial. Nonprofit pricing exists for US organizations on Professional and Advanced only, and Sprout does not print the discount. Payment is by major credit card or PayPal, with prepayment options handled through sales.
Profile counting is stricter than it looks. The five-profile cap on Essentials and Standard counts X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, WhatsApp, LinkedIn company pages and personal profiles, Google Business, TripAdvisor, Glassdoor and Yelp. A brand with Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and a Google Business listing has already filled Standard.

What a team actually pays per year
The scenarios below use Sprout's annual rates unless noted, the plan each team needs for its workflow, and the published seat prices of two competitors. Totals are the published monthly rate times seats times 12, before tax.
| Team | Sprout plan and yearly cost | Hootsuite | Buffer |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 marketer, 5 profiles, publishing only | Essentials, $948 | Standard, $99/user/mo yearly | Essentials, $25/mo for 5 channels yearly |
| 1 marketer who also answers the inbox | Standard, $2,388 | Standard, $99/user/mo yearly, inbox included | Essentials, comment inbox only, no review moderation |
| 3 people, a manager approves posts | Professional, 3 seats, $10,764 | Advanced, 3 seats, $100 more per user than Sprout Professional on annual billing | Team, $50/mo for 5 channels yearly, unlimited users |
| Agency, 2 seats, clients approve without a login | Advanced, 2 seats, $9,576 | Advanced, the same per-user rate | Team, approvals for invited members |
The approval row is where seat pricing bites. Three Professional seats are $897/mo, and the manager who only clicks approve pays the same rate as the writer. Hootsuite keeps approvals on its Advanced plan, which costs $100 more per user than Sprout Professional, so the same three people cost more there. Buffer's Team plan includes unlimited team members and content approval workflows, priced by channel rather than by person, at $50/mo for five channels on yearly billing. Buffer is a lighter tool with no review management or case routing, so the gap buys real features, but a team that only needs drafting and sign-off is paying for software it will not use.
The inbox row favors Hootsuite. Its Standard plan includes one inbox for messages and up to 10 social accounts, so a solo marketer who answers comments pays about half the Sprout Standard seat and gets twice the profile cap. Sprout's case is the review moderation, case management and reply collision detection that come with its Standard seat.
Month-to-month billing widens every row. The same three Professional seats on monthly billing are $1,197/mo, or $14,364 a year, $3,600 more than the annual commitment. A team that is unsure about Sprout should use the 30-day trial to decide, not the monthly rate.
The agency row is the case for Advanced. Two Advanced seats cost $798/mo on annual billing, and the external approval workflow means a client can review posts without a seat. On Professional, that client would need a login of their own to approve. If more than one client reviewer would otherwise need a Professional seat, Advanced can come out cheaper than adding logins.
For cheaper tools priced on the same five-profile scenario, see cheaper Sprout Social alternatives. The full Hootsuite ladder is on Hootsuite pricing, the two seat-priced leaders go head to head in Sprout Social vs Hootsuite, and channel-versus-seat pricing is argued in Hootsuite vs Buffer.
Is Sprout Social worth the price in 2026?
For a team that lives in the inbox and reports to leadership, yes, on the right plan. Standard is the cheapest seat that answers comments and reviews in one place, and Professional is the cheapest one with approvals and competitor reports. The 24/5 live phone and chat support is the same on every plan, so a higher seat buys features, not faster help.
It is a poor buy for a solo creator who only schedules. Essentials at the annual rate is a strong publishing seat, but Buffer prices the same five channels at $25/mo on yearly billing, and the free social media schedulers roundup covers the $0 starting points. It is also a poor fit for a team that wants approvals with many casual reviewers, because each reviewer is a full Professional seat until you move to Advanced.
The product view, beyond the invoice, is the Sprout Social review. The wider field is ranked in best social media management tools, with single-tool reads in the Agorapulse review, the Vista Social review and the Buffer review. Teams leaving the other per-seat leader can start at Hootsuite alternatives, and AI-first options are in best AI for social media. How we checked these prices
Sprout's annual and monthly seat prices, profile limits, AI credits, the feature chart by plan, the add-on list and the FAQ answers on billing, Trellis Plus, trial, nonprofits and payment come from Sprout Social's pricing page, read on 18 October 2026. Hootsuite's per-user annual rates and the plan that carries approvals come from Hootsuite's plans page. Buffer's five-channel yearly totals, included users and approval workflows come from Buffer's pricing page, both read on the same day.
The 156-tool count, the 68-tool cross-shop figure and the $19.99 median come from Toolradar's social media management snapshot of October 2026. FAQ
How much does Sprout Social cost per month in 2026?
On annual billing, Sprout Social is $79 per seat a month for Essentials, $199 for Standard, $299 for Professional and $399 for Advanced. Month-to-month billing is $99, $249, $399 and $499 per seat. Enterprise is a custom quote. Those prices were read on Sprout's pricing page on 18 October 2026.
Does Sprout Social have a free plan?
No. Sprout offers a 30-day free trial with no credit card, and at the end you pick a plan and enter payment details. You can switch plans during the trial, so it is the cheapest way to test whether Standard's inbox or Professional's approvals are the features your team needs.
Which Sprout Social plan includes post approvals?
Professional is the first plan with the message approval workflow and advanced publishing permissions. Advanced adds an external approval workflow, so stakeholders can review posts without logging in, plus approvals for replies. Neither Essentials nor Standard has post approvals.
How many social profiles does each Sprout plan allow?
Essentials and Standard allow five social profiles per account, and LinkedIn personal profiles, Google Business listings and review sites such as Yelp count toward that limit. Professional, Advanced and Enterprise have unlimited profiles, which is why a brand with a sixth channel has to move up.
Is Sprout Social cheaper than Hootsuite?
Per seat, it depends on the plan. Sprout Essentials undercuts Hootsuite Standard at $99 per user a month, but Essentials has no inbox, while Hootsuite Standard includes one. For approvals, Sprout Professional at $299 per seat is cheaper than Hootsuite Advanced, which costs $100 more per user on annual billing, and Hootsuite keeps approvals on Advanced.
How much does Trellis Plus cost on Sprout Social?
Every seat includes 100 Trellis AI credits a month. Trellis Plus, for heavier AI use, is $28 per user a month on annual billing or $35 per user a month on monthly billing, on top of the seat price.
