BrightLocal Review 2026
What BrightLocal's Track, Manage and Grow plans cost per location, what each adds, and how Whitespark, Local Falcon, Moz Local and Synup compare.
BrightLocal is worth it in 2026 for an agency or a business with three or more locations, because its per-location price falls steeply with volume: Track costs $369 a year for one location ($31 a month equivalent), and ten locations on Grow cost $1,178 a year. Monthly billing costs more: Track is $41 a month for one location.
For a single location that only needs listings and reviews, it is not the cheapest route. Moz Local's entry tier costs $199 a year per location, and Whitespark sells each tool on its own. Citations cost extra on every plan.

BrightLocal is a local SEO platform: it tracks where a business ranks in Google's map pack and local results, audits its listings and Google Business Profile, and on the higher plans syncs listings and manages reviews. The buying question for a marketer is whether the per-location bill beats stitching together cheaper single tools, and that depends almost entirely on how many locations you run.
Toolradar data: the BrightLocal profile on Toolradar, the software directory we run, aggregates a 4.5 rating from 1,261 ratings across the web and lists it as an alternative to four other tools, as of October 2026. Its closest single-tool rival in that catalog is Whitespark.
Methodology: we read BrightLocal's pricing page and its pricing FAQ on 21 October 2026, plus the pricing pages of Whitespark, Local Falcon, Moz Local and Synup the same day. All totals are our arithmetic on those printed prices.
What is BrightLocal?
BrightLocal sells three self-serve plans, Track, Manage and Grow, each priced per location, plus three services: a pay-as-you-go Citation Builder, a managed local SEO service and custom API access. Each plan includes everything in the one below it. The platform works in the USA, the UK, Canada and Australia, so a business elsewhere can use the Citation Builder in more countries but not the full platform.
Track is the reporting plan. It covers local SEO audits, rank tracking for up to 100 keywords and four competitors per location, a geo-grid map for up to five keywords, citation accuracy monitoring, a Google Business Profile audit and the new Local AI Visibility Tracker, which shows how a business appears in ChatGPT and Google's AI answers.
How BrightLocal works
Manage adds the tools that change listings rather than report on them: AI Insights, which turns the data into a prioritized to-do list, Active Sync to keep business details consistent on key sites, and a scheduler for Google Business Profile posts. Grow adds review work: monitoring and responding to reviews across sites, review requests by email, SMS and in-store campaigns, and a review widget for your website.
Citations sit outside the plans. The Citation Builder is a manual service you pay for per site, and you can use it with a free account and no subscription at all. BrightLocal submits to the five data aggregator networks it names (Data Axle, Neustar Localeze, Foursquare, Yellow Pages Network and GPS Network) as part of a citation campaign. The plan comparison also lists white-label reports, APIs and an MCP server that connects BrightLocal data to ChatGPT, Claude or Mistral.

BrightLocal pricing
Prices verified on BrightLocal's pricing page, 21 October 2026, in USD. Every plan is priced by the number of locations managed, in bands (1, 2 to 5, 6 to 10, then steps of ten up to 100). Annual billing saves 25% and is shown as a yearly charge; above 100 locations the price is on request. You can switch between monthly and annual billing at any time, but a downgrade takes effect immediately and BrightLocal gives no refund for the remaining time, so wait until near your renewal date to step down.
The extras move the bill more than the plan does for a new business. The Citation Builder starts at $3.20 per site, falling as low as $2 with bulk credits, so a 50-site citation campaign costs between $100 and $160 by our arithmetic. The managed local SEO service costs $1,299 a month. API access is a custom quote. For rank tracking outside the map pack, see our free rank trackers.

Who BrightLocal is for
BrightLocal suits a local SEO agency or a business with several locations that wants rank tracking, listings and reviews under one login. The per-location price is what makes the case: by our arithmetic on annual billing, Grow beats paying Moz Local's $299-a-year review tier for each location once you run three or more locations ($782 for two to five locations, against $897 for three on Moz Local).
Skip it if you run one location and only need listings synced: Moz Local's entry tier costs $199 a year. Skip it too if your only job is geo-grid rank tracking, which Local Falcon sells by the grid point. Businesses outside the USA, UK, Canada and Australia cannot use the platform. For brand mentions beyond local listings, see our brand monitoring tools, and for site-level SEO, the SE Ranking review.

The bottom line
Buy BrightLocal on annual billing if you manage three or more locations, or if you are an agency that wants rank tracking, AI visibility, listings and reviews in one report. Start on Track if you only report on rankings, and move to Grow once review requests are part of the job.
Choose Moz Local instead for a single location that needs listings and review alerts, and Local Falcon if geo-grid rankings are all you track. For AI search monitoring beyond local results, see our AI visibility tools pricing and GEO tools pages, and more reviews on the MarketingShot home page.
