Agorapulse vs Hootsuite 2026: Per-User Cost Compared

Agorapulse vs Hootsuite in 2026: Agorapulse Standard is $79 per user a month and Hootsuite Standard $99, both billed yearly. Approvals and profile caps decide it.

Agorapulse vs Hootsuite 2026: Per-User Cost Compared

Agorapulse is the cheaper tool for most social teams in 2026: its Standard seat is $79 per user a month billed yearly against $99 for Hootsuite Standard, and the gap widens on the plans teams actually need. Hootsuite wins for agencies with many accounts, because its Professional plan connects unlimited social profiles, while every self-serve Agorapulse plan shares 10.

Two questions decide it for most buyers: does a manager approve posts before they go out, and do you manage more than 10 social accounts? Approvals favor Agorapulse by a wide margin; a long list of client profiles favors Hootsuite.

Prices come from Agorapulse's pricing page and Hootsuite's plans page, read on October 19, 2026, in USD.

Toolradar data: Hootsuite is listed as an alternative to 70 other tools on Toolradar, joint #1 of the 159 social media management tools it tracks, and Agorapulse to 55, ranking #3, as of October 2026 (Hootsuite on Toolradar, Agorapulse on Toolradar). These two are among the most cross-shopped tools in the category, so most buyers comparing one will price the other.

At a glance

Plan Agorapulse, per user a month (yearly) Hootsuite, per user a month (yearly) Profiles: Agorapulse / Hootsuite Approvals: Agorapulse / Hootsuite
Standard $79 $99 10 / 10 No / No
Professional $119 $199 10 / Unlimited Simple approvals / No
Advanced $149 $399 10 / Unlimited Simple approvals / Yes
Custom or Enterprise Quote Quote Unlimited / Unlimited Multi-step / Yes

Both vendors sell monthly billing too. Agorapulse prints its monthly rates: $99, $149 and $199 per user, with annual billing saving $240, $360 and $600 a year per user on its three plans. Hootsuite says monthly billing costs more per user but does not print the rate, so this page compares the two on yearly billing only. Hootsuite's listed prices also exclude tax, so add your local rate to the per-seat figures above.

Which is cheaper for your team?

Here is what four common setups pay per month on yearly billing, our arithmetic on each vendor's printed per-user rates:

Team setup Cheapest Agorapulse plan that fits Cheapest Hootsuite plan that fits
1 manager, up to 10 profiles, no approvals Standard: $79 Standard: $99
3 people, approvals required, up to 10 profiles Professional: $357 Advanced: $1,197
5 people sharing an inbox with assignments Professional: $595 Advanced: $1,995
2 people, 25 client profiles Self-serve plans need profile add-ons beyond 10 Professional: $398

Approvals are where the bill splits. Agorapulse puts simple approval workflows, internal comments and inbox assignment on Professional, its middle plan. Hootsuite holds approval workflows, message assignment and skill-based routing until Advanced, its top self-serve plan at more than two and a half times the price of an Agorapulse Advanced seat. A three-person team that needs sign-off pays over three times as much on Hootsuite.

The profile cap is the counterweight. Agorapulse's 10 profile slots are shared across all users, so adding a seat does not add slots; extra slots are a paid add-on with no price on the pricing page. An agency running 25 client accounts on two seats has a clean, published number on Hootsuite Professional and an unpriced add-on on Agorapulse, so request an Agorapulse quote before you assume it is cheaper at that scale.

Publishing and collaboration

Both tools cover scheduling, a content calendar and analytics on every plan. The differences are in how teams work together on those posts.

Agorapulse Professional adds first comments and threads, calendar notes, the Instagram grid preview, internal comments, Instagram product tagging and a link-in-bio page. Advanced adds bulk scheduling, publishing queues, post labels and up to 5 shared calendars, and Custom adds multi-step approvals and boosting Facebook posts. For a content team that lives in the calendar, Agorapulse Professional covers most daily work at a mid-tier price.

Hootsuite Standard covers planning, scheduling and the unified inbox for up to 10 accounts. Professional removes the account cap and adds link tracking, automatic tagging of outbound messages and automatic boosting of top posts. Approvals, internal collaboration on content and suspending scheduled posts arrive only on Advanced. Hootsuite also notes that some features work only with multiple seats.

Inbox and customer care

Agorapulse puts its inbox features low in the plan table. Every plan has the unified inbox, comment moderation, Google reviews moderation and inline translation. Professional adds ad comment moderation, assignment of comments and messages, and reply collision detection; Advanced adds saved replies, inbox labels, bulk inbox actions and sentiment display.

Hootsuite's Professional plan automates more of the inbox: automated message responses and DM workflows, AI-powered smart replies and auto-tagging of conversations. Message assignment, routing to the right teammate and customer satisfaction surveys sit on Advanced. A care team that needs assignment pays for Agorapulse Professional or Hootsuite Advanced, and the table above shows how far apart those two seats are.

Reporting, listening and benchmarking

Hootsuite includes social listening in its self-serve plans, which Agorapulse does not. Standard includes listening and benchmarking against up to five competitors; Professional raises that to 20 competitors and adds 30-day Quick Search and AI forecasting of trends up to 90 days ahead. Advanced listening with 13 months of history is an Enterprise feature.

Agorapulse sells Advanced Listening, Advocacy and Competitive Benchmarking as add-ons, with no price on its pricing page. Its own reports are strong on the core plans: white-label reports and a basic ROI report on every plan, then ads reporting, scheduled report emails and an advanced ROI report on Advanced. Data retention is 6 months on Standard, 12 on Professional and 24 on Advanced.

If brand listening is part of the job, Hootsuite's published price includes it; on Agorapulse it is an extra line you can only price through sales.

Free plans, trials and contracts

Neither tool has a free plan for new users. Agorapulse ended its Free plan on July 6, 2026, for new and existing users, according to its help center. For a $0 scheduler, see our best free social media schedulers.

Trials favor Agorapulse. Its trial gives 15 days of the Advanced plan with one 15-day extension, 30 days in total, with no card. Hootsuite's trial runs 14 days with no card, but trial accounts are limited to 10 to 20 posts a day per organization and cannot bulk schedule.

On contracts, Agorapulse's annual plan is billed upfront for 12 months and renews automatically, with an email reminder a week before renewal. Hootsuite sells seats per user on Standard, Professional and Advanced, and invoices only the annual Enterprise plan; self-serve plans are paid by card or PayPal.

X (Twitter) and AI

Agorapulse connects X only through paid add-ons, X Lite for publishing or X Plus for the inbox and reports, priced per X profile. Teams that run customer care on X should add that line to the Agorapulse estimate. Agorapulse includes its AI writing assistant and AI alt text on every plan, with AI reply suggestions on Custom.

Hootsuite lists AI-powered smart replies on Professional and AI trend forecasting in its listening tools. Both vendors keep the deepest AI features on their quote-only tiers.

Which should you choose?

Choose Agorapulse if your team needs approvals, shared inbox assignment or a strong reporting setup, and you manage 10 social accounts or fewer. It is the cheaper seat at every self-serve tier, and the 30-day trial gives you time to test it with your team.

Choose Hootsuite if you manage many profiles on few seats, want social listening included in the plan price, or need competitor benchmarking out of the box. Its Professional plan is the cheapest published price for unlimited accounts in this pair.

Neither tool is cheap, since both sit at the premium end of a category where many schedulers cost a fraction of these seats; our best social media management tools ranking and Hootsuite alternatives cover lower-cost options. How we compared

Seat prices, profile limits and plan features come from Agorapulse's pricing page, its help center articles on pricing per user, the trial and the free plan, and Hootsuite's plans page and its FAQ, all read on October 19, 2026. Team totals are our arithmetic on the printed per-user rates, on yearly billing because Hootsuite does not print its monthly rate. The cross-shopping figures are from Toolradar's live records that month. It compares published plans and prices only.
