Omnisend Alternatives 2026: Pricing Compared

Seven Omnisend alternatives priced for a 500-contact store, with free plans, offer prices and automation limits side by side.

Product links may be affiliate links. How we rate 7 tools compared
TL;DR

At 500 contacts, the cheapest options are free: Shopify Email covers 10,000 emails a month for a Shopify store, EmailOctopus's free plan covers 2,500 subscribers with its branding, and Kit's free plan covers 10,000 subscribers but has no visual automations or sequences. The cheapest paid plan is Brevo Starter at $9 a month, checked on Brevo's pricing page in October 2026, but Starter has no marketing automation.

Brevo's automations start on Standard at $18 a month, which is above Omnisend's regular $16 Standard rate. For automations on a budget, MailerLite includes automations on its free plan for 250 subscribers, and its cheapest paid plan starts at $12 a month.

Klaviyo is the store default, but its paid price depends on profile count, so this page does not rank it at 500 contacts.

Key facts7 tools compared: Shopify Email, EmailOctopus, Brevo, MailerLite, Flodesk, Kit, Klaviyo
  • Updated: October 10, 2026
  • Top pick: Shopify Email (best for: Shopify stores sending under 10,000 emails a month that want no extra software)
  • Top pick price as of October 10, 2026: Shopify Email: Free up to 10,000 emails a month, then $1 per 1,000 extra. Needs a Shopify plan.
  • 7 tools compared: Shopify Email, EmailOctopus, Brevo, MailerLite, Flodesk, Kit, Klaviyo
  • EmailOctopus (best for: Email-only senders on a budget who accept branding on a free plan): Free up to 2,500 subscribers and 10,000 emails a month. Pro is $9 a month billed yearly.
  • Brevo (best for: Teams that buy email by volume and want SMS on the same account): Starter $9/mo or $96.96/yr for 5,000 emails a month. Automations start on Standard at $18/mo.
  • MailerLite (best for: Small lists that need automations before the first paid month): Free to 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month. Comfort starts at $12/mo.

Omnisend bills subscribers and non-subscribers who received automated messages, and it does not bill unsubscribed contacts. That rule is the one part of its meter that works for you. The price most people quote is different: the Standard card reads $11.20 a month, which is a three-month offer.

Its printed three-month total of $48.00 implies a regular rate of $16 a month.

Toolradar data: the email marketing ranking we publish at Toolradar, the software directory we run, evaluated 107 tools and was updated in October 2026.

Six of the seven alternatives below have a Toolradar profile: Brevo, Klaviyo, Kit, MailerLite, Flodesk and EmailOctopus.

Dupple sends its newsletters, MarketingShot included, on beehiiv, so beehiiv is in our own stack, and it is not one of the seven picks here.

Methodology: each price was checked on the vendor's own pricing page in US dollars in October 2026, at one scenario: 500 contacts and 4,000 emails a month, on monthly billing unless a yearly price is named. Omnisend Standard is the reference because its card shows 500 contacts. A price is ranked only where the vendor's page prints a band that fits the scenario.

1 Shopify Email logo
Top Pick

Shopify Email

The allowance is priced on sends, so a 500-contact list does not change the bill.

Pricing
Free up to 10,000 emails a month, then $1 per 1,000 extra. Needs a Shopify plan.

Best for: Shopify stores sending under 10,000 emails a month that want no extra software.

Pros

  • Free on every Shopify plan, with no monthly commitment, for up to 10,000 emails a month.
  • Priced on sends, so unsubscribed and inactive people do not move the bill.

Cons

  • It works only inside a Shopify store, so a publication or a non-Shopify brand needs another tool.
  • Above 10,000 emails, each extra 1,000 costs $1, so a heavy sender should price the overage first.
2 EmailOctopus logo

EmailOctopus

The free plan covers a 500-contact list at no charge, with EmailOctopus branding on every email.

Pricing
Free up to 2,500 subscribers and 10,000 emails a month. Pro is $9 a month billed yearly.

Best for: Email-only senders on a budget who accept branding on a free plan.

Pros

  • Free covers 2,500 subscribers and 10,000 emails a month, enough for a 500-contact list at no charge.
  • Pro adds full control over your email design, unlimited landing pages and forms, and reports kept forever.

Cons

  • Free puts EmailOctopus branding on emails, allows one user and keeps reports for 30 days.
  • Neither plan lists automation workflows, so flows may need a different tool.
3 Brevo logo

Brevo

The cheapest paid plan here, with marketing automation only from the next tier up.

Pricing
Starter $9/mo or $96.96/yr for 5,000 emails a month. Automations start on Standard at $18/mo.

Best for: Teams that buy email by volume and want SMS on the same account.

Pros

  • Starter covers 5,000 emails a month, which fits a 4,000-email store with room to spare.
  • Standard adds unlimited multi-step automations and A/B testing.

Cons

  • Starter has no marketing automation, so a welcome flow means moving up to Standard.
  • SMS credits are sold separately, and Professional starts at $499 a month for 150,000 emails.
4 MailerLite logo

MailerLite

Automations sit on the free plan, and paid rates move with the subscriber count.

Pricing
Free to 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month. Comfort starts at $12/mo.

Best for: Small lists that need automations before the first paid month.

Pros

  • Free includes campaigns, automations, a website, a landing page and signup forms for 250 subscribers.
  • Billed yearly saves 10% on the paid plans, and Power starts at $25 a month for heavier senders.

Cons

  • Paid rates move with a subscriber slider, so check the rate at your exact list size before you commit.
  • Free allows two seats, which a team with a marketer and a designer outgrows quickly.
5 Flodesk logo

Flodesk

Priced in subscriber bands, with checkouts and abandoned cart automations only on Everything.

Pricing
Lite $25/mo, Pro $28/mo and Everything $54/mo for up to 1,000 subscribers. Annual is lower.

Best for: Creators and small brands that want simple email, with e-commerce checkout on the top plan.

Pros

  • Everything adds unlimited integrated checkouts, sales pages, subscriptions and abandoned cart automations.
  • Pro adds unlimited workflows and advanced reporting at $28 a month, well below Everything.

Cons

  • Lite's workflow is a limited-time bonus, and unlimited workflows start on Pro.
  • Everything costs $54 a month at this band, more than three times Omnisend's regular rate.
6 Kit logo

Kit

A large free list with no automations, and a Creator plan that adds sequences.

Pricing
Free up to 10,000 subscribers, with no automations. Creator $33/mo for 1,000 subscribers.

Best for: Creators and newsletter writers who want visual automations on a paid plan.

Pros

  • Creator includes unlimited visual automations and unlimited email sequences.
  • The free plan covers up to 10,000 subscribers, so a 500-contact list pays only once it needs automations.

Cons

  • The paid entry sits at 1,000 subscribers, so a 500-contact store pays for a band it does not fill.
  • Pro is $50 a month in year one, then its $66 standard rate, a steep step for a small list.
7 Klaviyo logo

Klaviyo

The Shopify default, but a 500-contact list is already past its free profile cap.

Pricing
Free up to 250 profiles and 500 emails a month. Paid plans are priced by profile count.

Best for: Store owners who expect to pass 250 profiles and can budget per profile.

Pros

  • The free plan includes built-in reporting, so you can test one flow before paying.
  • The paid price tracks the profile band you pick, which keeps the choice tied to your real list size.

Cons

  • Paid prices come from an estimator by profile band, so this table does not rank them at 500 contacts.
  • Free ends at 250 profiles, half of this scenario's list.

What it is

An Omnisend alternative is an email platform that takes over your store's contacts, signup forms and automated flows, with a price you can predict. Omnisend is built around ecommerce, with prebuilt store workflows and SMS sold on top of its plans.

Most switches are driven by one line on the invoice: the contact count, the send volume, or a feature that sits on a higher tier.

Store owners weigh Klaviyo, Brevo and Shopify Email. Creators and small brands weigh Kit and Flodesk.

Email-only senders on a budget weigh EmailOctopus and MailerLite. The sections below sort the options by the line that hurt.

How it works

Start with the meter that hurt. If the bill follows contacts, count the list you mail, not the list you hold. Omnisend skips unsubscribed contacts, so archive dead records before you price a new tool, or a contact-priced plan will carry them.

If the bill follows sends, price on emails.

Shopify Email charges nothing up to 10,000 emails a month on a Shopify plan, and Brevo's Starter covers 5,000 emails a month at its entry rate. Both fit a 4,000-email store without a contact tier.

If the bill follows features, check the tier that holds the flow.

Brevo's automations start on Standard, Kit's visual automations need Creator, and Flodesk's unlimited workflows need Pro. Rebuild the one flow you cannot run without on a plan that includes it before you pay for the switch.

Why it matters

The offer price is not the year-round price. Omnisend's Standard card shows $11.20 a month for the first three months. At the regular rate, a 500-contact store pays $192 a year. With the offer's three months included, year one comes to about $178.

Budget the regular rate and treat the offer as a bonus.

Email caps are the second trap. Standard's card at 500 contacts covers 6,000 emails a month, which is 12 times the list. Pro is unlimited with fair use, and its regular rate is $59 a month.

A store that passes 6,000 sends a month at this size has to move up, so model the sends you will run next year, not the ones you run today.

Free plans carry their own limits. EmailOctopus puts its branding on every email and allows one user.

Klaviyo's free plan covers 250 profiles, which a 500-contact list has already passed. Shopify Email is free up to 10,000 emails a month, and that cap counts sends, not seats or features.

Key features to look for

What the meter counts
Omnisend bills subscribers and non-subscribers who received automated messages. Brevo and Shopify Email price on emails sent. Flodesk and Kit price on subscribers, starting from a 1,000-subscriber band.
Where the flows stop
Brevo's Starter has no marketing automation. Kit's free plan has no visual automations or sequences. Flodesk's Lite includes one workflow as a limited-time bonus, and unlimited workflows start on Pro.
Whether the free plan runs a store
EmailOctopus's free plan is branded and allows one user. MailerLite's free plan includes automations for up to 250 subscribers. Klaviyo's free plan covers up to 250 profiles.
Whether the tool sells checkout or SMS
Flodesk's Everything plan adds unlimited integrated checkouts, sales pages and subscriptions. Omnisend sells SMS on top of its plans, starting at $0.007 per message on Pro.

Pricing

Free and near-free first. At 500 contacts and 4,000 emails a month, Shopify Email, EmailOctopus's free plan and Kit's free plan cost nothing.

Brevo Starter is the cheapest paid plan, at $96.96 a year billed yearly or $108 a year on monthly billing, but it covers no marketing automation.

With automations. MailerLite's free plan covers 250 subscribers with automations, and its paid plans move with a subscriber slider.

Omnisend Standard is $192 a year at its regular rate. Brevo Standard costs $194.04 a year billed yearly, or $216 a year on monthly billing.

Flodesk Pro is $300 a year billed annually for up to 1,000 subscribers, and Kit Creator is $390 billed yearly.

Against Omnisend's regular rate, Brevo Starter saves $84 a year on monthly billing and $95 on yearly billing, but only by dropping automations.

Brevo Standard does not save anything at this size. Prices were checked on each vendor's own pricing page in US dollars in October 2026.

Mistakes to avoid
×Budgeting the Omnisend offer price for a full year. The offer covers three months, and the regular rate applies after that.
×Pricing a new tool on the list you hold instead of the list you mail. Dead records inflate a contact-priced bill, so archive them before you compare.
×Assuming Brevo's cheapest plan runs flows. Starter has no marketing automation, so the flow you need starts on Standard.
×Reading Shopify's free allowance as unlimited. It covers 10,000 emails a month, then $1 per 1,000 extra.
Expert tips
→Rebuild one live flow on a free plan that includes automations, such as MailerLite, before you pay for a switch.
→Model the subscriber band you will occupy. MailerLite's rate moves with its slider, and Flodesk prices up to 1,000 subscribers as one band.
→Keep Omnisend's SMS in the budget. Free and Standard sell it as an add-on, and Pro starts at $0.007 per SMS.

The bottom line

Shopify Email is the cheapest exit for a Shopify store sending under 10,000 emails a month. Brevo Starter is the cheapest paid plan, but its automations start on Brevo Standard, which costs more than Omnisend's regular Standard rate.

For a list that needs automations on a budget, MailerLite is the strongest case, while Kit's automations need Creator and Flodesk's checkout needs Everything, and both cost more at this size.

Klaviyo stays the store choice when you can budget a profile-based price.

Omnisend remains the reference point: its regular Standard rate is the benchmark at 500 contacts, after an offer that covers three months only.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Omnisend alternative in 2026?

For a store that needs automations on a low bill, MailerLite is the strongest case. Its free plan includes automations for 250 subscribers, and its cheapest paid plan starts at $12 a month. A Shopify store under 10,000 emails a month should price Shopify Email first, since it costs nothing at that volume.

Is there a free Omnisend alternative?

Yes, with limits. Shopify Email is free for 10,000 emails a month on any Shopify plan. EmailOctopus is free for 2,500 subscribers and 10,000 emails a month, with its branding on each email and one user. Kit's free plan covers up to 10,000 subscribers but has no visual automations or sequences.

How much does Omnisend cost in 2026?

For 500 contacts on Standard, the card reads $11.20 a month for three months. The printed three-month total of $48.00 puts the regular rate at $16 a month, or $192 a year. The free plan covers 250 contacts and 500 emails a month, with Omnisend branding. Pro's offer reads $41.30 a month, and its regular rate works out to $59.

Does Brevo include automations in its cheapest plan?

No. Brevo Starter costs $96.96 a year billed yearly, or $108 a year on monthly billing, for emails from 5,000 a month, and it has no marketing automation. Standard adds unlimited multi-step automations at $18 a month, or $194.04 a year billed yearly. Professional starts at $499 a month for 150,000 emails and 10 seats.

How does Klaviyo compare with Omnisend on price?

Klaviyo sets paid prices by profile count through an estimator, so this page does not put a Klaviyo figure beside Omnisend's at 500 contacts. What is fixed is its free plan, which covers up to 250 profiles and 500 emails a month, so a 500-contact list is already past it. Run Klaviyo's estimator on your exact profile count before you move, then compare it with Omnisend's regular rate.
