Keap Review 2026: Is $299 a Month Worth It for SMBs?
What Keap's single plan, extra users, text tiers and required implementation package add up to in year one, and when ActiveCampaign, HubSpot or Systeme.io costs less.
Keap is worth it in 2026 for a service business that will use CRM, email, invoicing, payments and texting in one system and lean on its setup team. The plan is $299 a month billed monthly, or $2,988 a year billed yearly, for 2 users, plus a required implementation package listed at $500.
That puts year one at roughly $3,500 before any extra users or contacts. A creator or a small list that mainly needs email and funnels pays far less on Systeme.io, which runs from free to $97 a month.

Keap is a CRM and automation platform built for small service businesses that sell, book and bill clients. It no longer sells feature tiers: one plan carries the whole platform, and the price moves with users, contacts and text volume.
This review reads the plan, the add-ons and the contract terms on the Keap pricing page and the package on its implementation services page, checked on October 18, 2026, and sets Keap against four tools small marketing teams compare it with.
For the wider field, our best marketing automation software guide ranks the category.
Toolradar data: Toolradar, the software directory we run, tracks 350 marketing automation tools as of October 17, 2026, and the median cheapest paid plan among the 95 that publish a price is $49 a month.
Keap's yearly rate works out to about five times that midpoint, so it has to replace several tools to earn its price.
Methodology: every price was read on each vendor's own pricing page on October 18, 2026, and the first-year and team totals are our arithmetic on those prices. We did not run Keap ourselves; this is a plan and pricing review. Dupple's own newsletters are sent on beehiiv, which is not part of this comparison.
What is Keap?
Keap is an all-in-one sales and marketing system for small businesses, now sold as a brand of Thryv.
The platform covers a CRM with lead source tracking, email broadcasts and automations, landing pages and forms, a sales pipeline, an appointment scheduler, quotes, invoices, checkout forms with order bumps and promo codes, and payments through its own processor or PayPal and Stripe.
Its edge is the back office, not the email editor. Billing automation chases past-due invoices, credit card expiration reminders protect recurring revenue, and task automation assigns follow-ups to staff. A coach, an agency or a clinic that books, quotes and bills clients gets more from that than from fancier email design.
Keap says it has served small businesses for more than 20 years and lists over 200,000 customers. Text marketing, the dedicated business line and the native payment processor are US features, and the mobile app runs in the US, Australia, Canada, the UK and New Zealand, so buyers elsewhere get a smaller product for the same price.
How Keap works
You start on a free trial with no credit card, then buy the plan and the implementation package together. An Implementation Strategy Manager runs a business mapping session, the team imports your data and migrates your assets, and two automations are launched for you, usually in the first month.
Strategy calls continue weekly in month one, monthly in months two to six and quarterly to month twelve.
The price has three meters. Users: 2 are included and more cost $39 a month each. Contacts: extra contacts are priced in tiers that get cheaper per contact as you add more, and the page shows the price once you enter a count.
Texts: Tier 1, with 500 messages and 100 voice minutes, comes with the subscription, and higher tiers run from $24 to $279 a month, with overages at $0.015 per text and $0.01 per voice minute.
Cancelling takes planning. Keap asks for the request at least 10 days before the next invoice, by phone to customer support, and an annual contract cancelled early carries the termination fee. Payment processing fees are charged by whichever processor you use, on top of the subscription.
Keap key features
Keap pricing
Keap prints one plan on its pricing page, read on October 18, 2026, billed either monthly or yearly; the yearly rate works out to $249 a month. Both include 2 users, and the page invites buyers to ask about current promotional offers.
Implementation is not optional. The implementation package is a one-time charge listed at $500, shown against a struck-through $1,500. Added to the yearly plan, year one comes to about $3,488 for 2 users.
On monthly billing the same year is about $4,088, so paying monthly costs $600 more in exchange for no annual contract.
Team growth adds up quickly. Each extra user costs $468 a year, so a 5-person team on yearly billing pays about $4,392 for the plan alone before implementation. A business that texts heavily adds a text tier on top, from $288 over 12 months on Tier 2 to $3,348 on Tier 6.
For contrast, Systeme.io tops out at $97 a month on Unlimited, or $1,164 over 12 months, with no setup fee. HubSpot Marketing Hub Professional starts at $800 a month with 3 seats and a required $3,000 onboarding fee, which puts a first year near $12,600. Keap sits between the two, priced for a business that wants a setup team.

Who Keap is for
Buy Keap if you run a service business that sells to clients one by one: a coach, consultant, agency, clinic or contractor who books calls, sends quotes, invoices and chases payments. If Keap replaces a CRM, a scheduler, an invoicing tool and an email sender, the $249 a month on yearly billing can cost less than the stack it retires.
Think twice if your list is the business. A newsletter, a course creator or an ecommerce brand mostly needs email, funnels and segmentation, and pays a fraction of Keap's price on Systeme.io or a dedicated email platform. Keap's strengths in quotes, invoices and pipeline will go unused.
Skip Keap if you cannot commit to setup time, sell outside the US and need texting, or want to cancel without a phone call. The implementation package and the annual contract assume you will build automations in the first months; a team that never does pays a premium for an expensive email tool.

The bottom line
Keap is worth its price in 2026 only for a small service business that will run its whole client cycle, from lead to invoice, inside one system. Budget about $3,500 for year one on yearly billing, and start monthly if you are unsure: the $600 premium buys the right to leave without a termination fee.
Choose Systeme.io when email, funnels and courses are the job and the budget is tight.
Choose ActiveCampaign for email-led automation with free onboarding, HubSpot when the marketing tool must sit inside a larger CRM, and Kit when a creator only needs email.
