SimpleTexting Pricing 2026: Credits, Numbers and Overages

SimpleTexting pricing in 2026: eight credit tiers, the local number fee, 20% off on yearly billing, overages from 5.5 to 2 cents, and a worked store scenario.

SimpleTexting Pricing 2026: Credits, Numbers and Overages

SimpleTexting costs $29/mo for 500 message credits, and the pricing page's default card shows $39/mo because it adds a $10/mo local number. Yearly billing takes 20% off the credit plan, so the same 500-credit plan with a local number is $33.20/mo, billed as $398.40 a year, plus a $4 one-time carrier registration. Choose a toll-free number instead and the number fee is $0, so the entry price is the bare credit price.

The plan is a bucket of credits, not a feature tier. Every plan carries the same features: mass texting, two-way messaging, free inbound replies, drip campaigns, MMS, an AI message generator, API access, unlimited contacts and keywords, Mailchimp and Zapier integrations, 3 user seats and 7-day live support. What you pick is how many credits you need a month. The bill then moves with four things: the credit tier, the number type, overages past the tier, and the carrier fees that ride on every text.

The rates here were read on 26 October 2026 on SimpleTexting's pricing page, with the credit ladder taken from the plan data that page's calculator renders from. Whether the product is worth it against the field is the SimpleTexting review; this page is only the bill.

Toolradar data: Toolradar, the software directory we run, tracks 25 SMS marketing tools as of 26 October 2026. Across the 13 of them that publish a flat monthly price, the median entry plan is $39/mo, which is exactly what SimpleTexting's default card shows with a local number, and its toll-free entry sits below that median (our arithmetic). The directory record is SimpleTexting on Toolradar, the ranking is best SMS marketing tools, and the wider counts are on the SMS marketing statistics page. MarketingShot data: this list has 35,000+ active subscribers as of November 1, 2026, with an open rate of 32%.

Toll-free number $0/mo Approval takes 1 to 3 days; carrier surcharges per message apply

MMS and long texts 3 credits per MMS, 2 credits per 306-character text Against the same credit bucket

The page also carries a Black Friday banner offering new customers 30% off the first month with a code, which is a limited-time promotion and not a list price. A 30-day money-back guarantee and a free trial without a credit card sit under every plan.

How much does SimpleTexting cost per month in 2026?

Eight credit tiers run from 500 to 50,000 credits a month, and the price per credit falls as the tier grows. The table lists the credit plan alone on monthly billing and on yearly billing, then the overage rate each tier charges for credits past its allowance. Add the local number fee from the table above for a local number, or nothing for a toll-free one.

Credits a month Monthly billing Yearly billing, per month Overage per extra credit
500 $29 $23.20 5.5 cents
1,000 $49 $39.20 5 cents
2,000 $79 $63.20 4 cents
3,000 $109 $87.20 4 cents
7,500 $229 $183.20 3.5 cents
15,000 $399 $319.20 3 cents
25,000 $549 $439.20 2.5 cents
50,000 $899 $719.20 2 cents

Above 50,000 credits the calculator hands you to sales for a custom plan, and a dedicated short code does the same at any volume. On yearly billing the whole year's credits arrive upfront, so a 2,000-credit plan is 24,000 credits to use whenever you like, and the page's calculator shows that as $758.40 billed for the credits alone.

Read the per-credit column before the plan price. The 500-credit plan works out to 5.8 cents a credit on monthly billing and the 50,000 plan to 1.8 cents (our arithmetic), so a brand that texts at scale pays less than a third per message of one that texts a small list. For a small list that is the price of a flat, predictable bill with no per-message invoice to reconcile.

What a local number adds, and when toll-free is the better buy

A local number is the card's default, and it is the one line that does not get the yearly discount. SimpleTexting's tooltip attributes the monthly number fee to what wireless carriers charge for sending from 10-digit long codes, and the one-time carrier registration is the 10DLC filing that comes with it. Local numbers typically activate within an hour.

A toll-free number costs nothing a month and approval takes 1 to 3 days. The trade-off is in the carrier surcharges. SimpleTexting's help center lists per-message pass-through fees on toll-free traffic by carrier, $0.0050 for Verizon, $0.0045 for T-Mobile and $0.0035 for AT&T on SMS, with MMS higher, and says it does not mark them up. On a 500-credit plan that is under $3 a month even if every text hits the priciest carrier (our arithmetic), so toll-free is the cheaper number for a small list; at 15,000 texts a month the surcharge line grows to roughly $45 to $75 and the local number starts to win on price, before you weigh the slower approval.

What a real campaign costs

Take an online store with 1,500 SMS subscribers that sends two campaigns a month and uses a local number. That is 3,000 SMS credits a month if every message is a plain text under 160 characters, so the fit is the 3,000-credit plan.

Line Monthly billing Yearly billing
3,000-credit plan $109 $87.20
Local number $10 $10
Carrier fees on 3,000 texts at about $0.0025 each About $7.50 About $7.50
Monthly total About $126.50 About $104.70
First month adds $4 carrier registration Same registration

The yearly total is $1,166.40 for the plan and number, before carrier fees, against $1,428 on monthly billing (our arithmetic, 12 times each monthly figure), a $261.60 saving for committing a year. The cost of that saving is flexibility: the year's 36,000 credits arrive upfront and unused ones expire at year end, so a store whose list is still growing is buying credits it has not yet earned.

Buying a smaller plan and running over is the trap. The same store on the 2,000-credit plan pays $79 plus 1,000 overage credits at 4 cents, or $119, plus the number, which costs more than the 3,000 plan for the same texts. SimpleTexting's help center says overages are charged automatically at the current plan's rate with no interruption to service, so the bill arrives rather than the campaign stopping, and the fix is to size the tier to the real send count.

Now change one variable: the store sends one of its two monthly campaigns as an MMS with a product image. MMS costs 3 credits, so that campaign alone uses 4,500 credits and the month needs 6,000, which pushes the store to the 7,500-credit plan at $229 on monthly billing. One picture message a month more than doubles the plan. Extended texts of up to 306 characters cost 2 credits, so the same arithmetic applies in softer form to long copy.

The rules that move the bill between months

Rollover only exists on monthly plans. Unused credits roll into the following month and are consumed after the new month's allowance, and a downgrade forfeits them. On yearly plans there is no rollover because the year's credits are already in the account; what is left on the renewal date is lost. A store with seasonal spikes should therefore pick the monthly tier that matches its average month and let rollover cover the busy one, rather than paying for a peak tier all year.

Inbound messages and replies are free, which matters for two-way programs: a customer-service texting line that receives more than it sends uses far fewer credits than the volume suggests. Carrier fees run the other way and apply to every outbound message on any number type; the pricing page puts the US average at about $0.0025 per message and Canada at about $0.0068, passed through without markup.

Seats and numbers are the two add-ons a growing team buys. Three users ride on every plan, and each extra user is $20/mo, so a five-person team pays $40/mo on top of its credits. Each extra number is priced like the first local number, which a multi-location business pays per location that texts from its own line. The team's wider SMS stack is priced in our SMS marketing cost guide.

How does SimpleTexting compare with EZ Texting and Postscript?

SimpleTexting is the mid-priced option of the three at the entry, with the cheapest overage of the credit-based pair. The comparison uses each vendor's listed entry price on 26 October 2026, and the meters differ, so the allowance column is the one to read.

Tool Entry price Included Extra messages
SimpleTexting $29/mo, plus the local number fee 500 credits, 3 seats, unlimited contacts 5.5 cents each on the entry tier
EZ Texting Launch $25/mo, or $20/mo on annual billing 500 monthly credits, or 6,000 yearly 4 cents each
Postscript Starter $0/mo with a $49 monthly minimum spend Pay per message $0.009 per SMS, $0.045 per MMS, plus carrier fees

EZ Texting's Launch plan is a few dollars cheaper at the entry and its overage is a cent and a half lower, but its Boost and Scale tiers at $75/mo and $125/mo still include 500 credits, so the ladder sells features rather than volume. SimpleTexting's ladder sells volume with the same features at every step, which is the better shape for a store that knows its send count.

Postscript is a different meter entirely. Starter has no plan fee, a $49 minimum spend, and $0.009 per SMS plus carrier fees it lists at an average of $0.0033 per US text. Three thousand texts a month cost about $37 in messages on Postscript, under the minimum, against $119 for the 3,000-credit plan and number on SimpleTexting (our arithmetic). Postscript is built around Shopify, so that price buys a narrower product, and email platforms that bundle SMS credits price texting differently again, as our Klaviyo pricing breakdown shows; our Postscript review and Postscript pricing cover it, and the best SMS marketing software ranking places all three. The directory record for the cheaper rival is EZ Texting on Toolradar.

Is SimpleTexting worth it in 2026?

For a small business that wants one bill, every feature and a human on support seven days a week, the 500 and 1,000-credit plans are fairly priced at the category median, and a toll-free number keeps the entry at the bare credit price. Size the tier to the real monthly send count, count MMS at three credits, and the bill is predictable.

For a Shopify store that texts at volume, the per-message platforms are cheaper per text, and SimpleTexting's overage rate on the small tiers is the figure that stings if the list grows faster than the plan. The yearly discount is real money at 20%, but it buys the year's credits upfront with no rollover, so take it only once the monthly send count has settled.

The two numbers to hold onto are 3 credits per MMS and the monthly local number fee. Those two lines, not the headline tier, decide whether the default card becomes a $239 one.

How we checked these prices

The credit tiers, their monthly and yearly prices and overage rates come from the plan data that the calculator on SimpleTexting's pricing page renders from, read on 26 October 2026. The default card, the local number fee, the carrier registration, the toll-free option, the $20 seat, the extra-number fee, the credit costs of MMS and extended texts, the US and Canadian carrier fee averages, the 30-day guarantee, the free trial and the Black Friday banner were read on the same page the same day. Rollover and overage behavior comes from SimpleTexting's help article on rollover credits, and the toll-free surcharges by carrier from its article on carrier fees for toll-free numbers, both read on 26 October 2026.

Store scenario totals, per-credit rates, the yearly saving and the surcharge estimates are our arithmetic, not invoices SimpleTexting sent us. EZ Texting's plan prices and overage rates were read on EZ Texting's pricing page and Postscript's on Postscript's pricing page, both on 26 October 2026. The 25-tool count and the median entry price come from Toolradar's SMS marketing statistics on 26 October 2026. Louis Corneloup, founder of Toolradar and Dupple, wrote this page. Ranking method is on how we rate, corrections are on the editorial policy, and the author note is on about.

FAQ

How much does SimpleTexting cost per month in 2026?

The cheapest plan is $29/mo for 500 credits on monthly billing, or $23.20/mo on yearly billing. A local number adds $10/mo and a $4 one-time carrier registration, which is why the pricing page's default card reads $39/mo; a toll-free number adds nothing a month.

Does SimpleTexting have a free plan?

No. There is a free trial with no credit card, and a 30-day money-back guarantee once you pay, but every plan starts at the 500-credit tier. Inbound messages and replies are free on any plan, which is the closest thing to free usage.

What happens when I run out of SimpleTexting credits?

Overages are charged automatically at your plan's per-credit rate, from 5.5 cents on the 500-credit plan down to 2 cents on the 50,000 plan, and service continues. On monthly plans unused credits roll over to the end of the following month, so a quiet month cushions a busy one; yearly plans deliver all credits upfront with no rollover.

Is SimpleTexting's yearly plan worth it?

Yearly billing takes 20% off the credit plan, so the 3,000-credit plan drops from $109 to $87.20 a month and a store with a local number saves $261.60 a year. The year's credits arrive upfront and expire at renewal, so the discount pays off once the monthly send count is stable, and not before.

How much does an MMS cost on SimpleTexting?

Three credits per picture message, against one credit for a 160-character SMS and two for an extended text up to 306 characters. A single MMS campaign to 1,500 contacts uses 4,500 credits, which moves a store from the 3,000-credit plan to the 7,500-credit plan.

Is SimpleTexting cheaper than EZ Texting?

Not at the entry: EZ Texting Launch is $25/mo against SimpleTexting's entry plan, both with 500 credits, and EZ Texting's overage is 4 cents against 5.5. SimpleTexting's higher tiers buy more credits at the same features, while EZ Texting's higher tiers buy features at the same 500 credits, so SimpleTexting is usually cheaper once a list needs more than the entry allowance.
