Manychat Pricing 2026: Plans, Contact Limits and Overage Costs
Manychat pricing in 2026: Free for 25 contacts, Essential $14/mo billed yearly, Pro $29, Business $69, Advanced $139. Overage rates and break-even points.

Manychat costs $14 a month on Essential billed annually ($17 billed monthly) for 250 active contacts, $29 on Pro for 2,500, $69 on Business for 7,500 and $139 on Advanced for 25,000. The Free plan covers 25 active contacts. Past each allowance you pay per extra contact, so the plan that looks cheapest is often not the one that costs least.
Every Manychat figure here was read on Manychat's pricing page on October 19, 2026. Prices exclude tax, and Manychat says the final price depends on your billing country. The pricing unit is the active contact, one person you message in a month, and that unit decides your bill far more than the plan name does: a creator whose Reel goes viral can triple their cost in a week without touching the settings.
Toolradar data: Toolradar, the software directory we run, tracks 83 chatbot tools as of October 2026, and among the 37 that publish a verified entry price the median entry plan is $34 a month. Manychat's annual Essential costs well under half of that. It is also one of the most cross-shopped names in the category: Manychat on Toolradar is listed as an alternative to 21 other tools, sixth of the 83, and the full category sits on Toolradar's chatbots ranking.

Plans, limits and both billing cycles were read on Manychat's pricing page and its plan comparison table, October 19, 2026.
How much does Manychat cost per contact?
The overage rate is the number to budget on, because every paid plan keeps running past its allowance. Manychat does not shut off your automations when you hit the limit; it bills each extra active contact at the rate below, monthly, even on an annual plan.
| Plan | Extra contact, monthly billing | Extra contact, annual billing |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | $0.10 | $0.082 |
| Pro | $0.05 | $0.038 |
| Business | $0.025 | $0.018 |
| Advanced | $0.004 | $0.0028 |
Advanced's rate is less than a twentieth of Essential's. That is the hidden logic of the price list: the small plans are cheap entry tickets with an expensive meter, and the large plans are expensive tickets with a cheap meter. A creator on Essential who gets 1,000 active contacts in a month pays the Essential base price plus 750 extra contacts at $0.082, which is $75.50, while Pro would cover the same month for well under half that.
Manychat gives you two controls. You can set an overage threshold that caps how many extra contacts you allow, and if you upgrade within the same billing cycle, the overage already incurred is forgiven and those contacts count toward the new plan. Upgrade the day you see a spike coming, not after the invoice lands.
When does upgrading get cheaper?
Run the base price plus overage for each plan and the crossover points are fixed numbers. On annual billing, by our arithmetic on the list prices:
- Essential to Pro at about 430 active contacts. Above that, Pro is cheaper even if you never use its AI or broadcasts.
- Pro to Business at about 3,550 active contacts. Below it, Pro plus overage still wins.
- Business to Advanced at about 11,400 active contacts. Business stays the cheaper plan well past its own allowance.
On monthly billing the crossovers sit slightly higher: about 470, 3,700 and 11,500 contacts.
Here is what that means for a month's bill at different audience sizes, picking the cheapest plan each time:
| Active contacts in the month | Cheapest plan | Annual billing, per month | Monthly billing, per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | Pro | $29 | $39 |
| 5,000 | Business | $69 | $99 |
| 10,000 | Business, with overage | $114 | $161.50 |
| 40,000 | Advanced, with overage | $181 | $259 |
Our arithmetic on Manychat's list prices, read October 19, 2026. Channel needs can override the cheapest plan, as the next section shows.
The 10,000 row is the one most marketers get wrong. Business at 7,500 contacts plus 2,500 extra comes to $114 on annual billing, still below Advanced's base price, so jumping to Advanced the moment you pass 7,500 wastes money unless you need its 10 users.
What the plan unlocks besides contacts
Contacts are not the only gate. Three limits push buyers up a tier regardless of audience size.
Channels. Free and Essential connect 2 channels from Instagram, Messenger, TikTok and Telegram. WhatsApp, SMS and email start at Pro, which connects 3 channels; Business and Advanced connect all of them. An e-commerce brand that wants WhatsApp order updates starts at Pro even with 300 contacts.
AI and broadcasts. AI replies, AI comment replies, a knowledge base and intent recognition all start at Pro, as do broadcasts on WhatsApp, Telegram and Messenger. Essential is a rules-based automation plan: keyword triggers, comment-to-DM and follow-to-DM flows, tags and A/B tests, with no AI in the loop.
People. Free has 1 user, Essential 2, Pro 3, Business 5 and Advanced 10. Inbox seats, the logins that answer 1:1 conversations, are fewer: Pro includes 2, Business 3, Advanced 5. Extra Inbox seats cost $25 each on Pro and above, up to a cap of 3 on Pro, 5 on Business and 10 on Advanced. Assigning conversations to teammates and team response-time analytics only arrive on Business.
Email sending is capped too: up to 10k emails on Pro, 30k on Business and 100k on Advanced, per the comparison table. A brand that wants Manychat to replace its newsletter tool will hit that cap; most use it for follow-ups and keep a dedicated platform for the list.

WhatsApp messages cost extra
Manychat's plan price does not cover WhatsApp message fees. According to Manychat's WhatsApp pricing guide, it charges for each template message delivered, at a rate set by the template category and the recipient's country, paid from a Manychat Wallet funded by your card.
For recipients in the United States and Canada, the guide lists $0.0287 per marketing template, $0.0039 per utility template and $0.0034 per service message from October 1, 2026. Each WhatsApp Business number gets 1,000 free service messages a month, and messages your customers send you are always free. Rates abroad run much higher: a marketing template to the Netherlands costs $0.1836.
Two consequences for a US marketer. First, the same guide notes that Meta paused marketing template messages to US recipients from April 1, 2025, so WhatsApp broadcasts are a play for international audiences. Second, a WhatsApp campaign has two meters running: the active contact overage on your plan and the per-message fee in your Wallet. Budget both before you launch.
Monthly vs annual billing
Annual billing saves more as the plan grows. Paying monthly for a year costs $204 on Essential, $468 on Pro, $1,188 on Business and $2,388 on Advanced, against the annual totals in the plans table. That is $36, $120, $360 and $720 saved, or 18%, 25%, 30% and 30%, matching the discounts Manychat prints.
The catch is flexibility. Manychat's FAQ says an annual plan cannot be downgraded or switched to monthly until the term ends, while a monthly plan can move to annual at any time, with unused time credited. Refunds are available if you cancel within 30 days of buying a plan.
Start monthly if your audience is still small or seasonal, then switch to annual once you know which tier your normal month lands on. The 14-day free trial on Essential and Pro gives you two weeks of real contact counts before you commit, and the Free plan needs no credit card.
Manychat vs Chatfuel and SleekFlow on price
| Tool | Entry price, billed yearly | Pricing unit | What the entry price covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Manychat | $14/mo, Essential | Active contacts | 250 contacts, 2 channels, no AI or WhatsApp |
| Chatfuel | $18/mo, Business ($216/yr) | Flat plan, unlimited active contacts | WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger, $20 of AI credits a month |
| SleekFlow | $49/mo, Essential ($588/yr) | Monthly active contacts | Unlimited contacts, 3 seats, shared inbox, simple automations |
Rival prices were read on Chatfuel's pricing page, Chatfuel's usage limits page and SleekFlow's pricing page on October 19, 2026.
For a large audience with simple flows, Chatfuel is the cheapest of the three. Its Business plan includes unlimited active contacts, so a brand talking to 10,000 people a month pays the same $18 as one talking to 500. The trade-off sits in the AI: Chatfuel applies a fair use allowance to AI processing, and when you exceed it the bot pauses until you renew or the period resets. Manychat keeps replying and bills the overage instead, unless you set a cap.
SleekFlow is built for support teams, not creators. Its Pro plan is $109 a month billed yearly for 500 monthly active contacts and 10 users, with extra contacts at $20 per 100. Matched to the contact allowance Manychat Pro includes, SleekFlow Pro comes to $509 a month by our arithmetic, so it only makes sense for a team that needs its 10 seats. Its Essential plan has unlimited contacts but no AI agents and is still rolling out by country.
Manychat sits between them: the most predictable bill for an Instagram-first creator or brand under a few thousand contacts, and the deepest Instagram automation of the three. Our Manychat review covers how the flows and AI work day to day; this page stays on the bill. For website chat rather than DMs, Tidio pricing and the Tidio review cost out the main alternative.
Is Manychat worth the price in 2026?
Yes for creators and social-first brands who sell through Instagram DMs and comments, as long as they pick the plan by contact count. Pro on annual billing is the sweet spot for most growing accounts: AI replies, WhatsApp and broadcasts, and 2,500 contacts before any overage.
It is a weaker deal in three cases. A brand with a very large, low-engagement audience pays a meter that Chatfuel does not run. A team of five or more agents needs Business for assignment and seats. And a US-focused brand that wanted WhatsApp marketing broadcasts will find them paused. For those buyers, the best chatbot builders ranking compares the field, the best AI tools for social media cover the content side, and SMS marketing costs with the best SMS marketing software price the text channel. Creators selling through DMs should also see the best creator monetization tools and link-in-bio tools.

FAQ
How much does Manychat cost per month in 2026?
Manychat Essential costs $14 a month billed annually or $17 billed monthly for 250 active contacts. Pro is $29 annually or $39 monthly for 2,500 contacts, Business $69 or $99 for 7,500, and Advanced $139 or $199 for 25,000. The Free plan covers 25 active contacts. Prices exclude tax and were read on Manychat's pricing page on October 19, 2026.
Is Manychat free?
Yes, for up to 25 active contacts a month. The Free plan connects 2 channels, runs up to 4 live automations for 1 user and adds "Powered by Manychat" to the first message a contact receives. It needs no credit card, but it cannot collect emails or phone numbers in DMs, which most lead-generation flows rely on.
What happens if I go over my Manychat contact limit?
Your automations keep running and Manychat bills each extra active contact for that month. The rate falls as the plan grows, from $0.10 on monthly Essential to $0.0028 on annual Advanced. You can cap overages with a threshold, and upgrading within the same billing cycle forgives the overage already incurred.
What counts as an active contact on Manychat?
An active contact is one person you exchange messages with in a monthly billing period, through automations, AI, broadcasts or the Inbox. The count is per person, not per message, so 20 messages to the same follower count once. Contacts are counted monthly even on annual plans.
Which Manychat plan do I need for WhatsApp?
Pro, at minimum. Free and Essential connect only Instagram, Messenger, TikTok and Telegram. WhatsApp also adds per-message fees paid from a Manychat Wallet: for US and Canadian recipients, $0.0039 per utility template and $0.0034 per service message after 1,000 free service messages a month.
Is Manychat cheaper than Chatfuel?
At the entry level, yes: Manychat's annual Essential plan undercuts Chatfuel Business, which is $18 a month billed yearly. At scale, Chatfuel is cheaper because its plan includes unlimited active contacts, while Manychat charges per contact past each allowance. Chatfuel caps AI processing under a fair use limit and pauses the bot when you exceed it.
