ClickFunnels vs Systeme.io 2026: $97 or Free?

ClickFunnels vs Systeme.io in 2026: plan prices on monthly and annual billing, contact and email caps, what each entry plan leaves out, and who should pay more.

ClickFunnels vs Systeme.io 2026: $97 or Free?

Systeme.io is worth it for most solo creators and small businesses: its free plan covers 2,000 contacts and 3 funnels, and its top self-serve plan costs the same as ClickFunnels' entry plan. ClickFunnels earns its price for teams that want live chat support, onboarding calls and a large AI word allowance, starting at $97 a month on Launch or $81 a month billed annually.

Prices come from ClickFunnels' pricing page, the ClickFunnels pricing help article and Systeme.io's pricing page, all read on October 21, 2026. Both vendors sell monthly and annual billing; every comparison below puts monthly next to monthly and annual next to annual.

Toolradar data: Toolradar, the software directory we run, tracks 70 landing page tools as of October 21, 2026, and 45 of them (64%) offer a free tier; Systeme.io is in that group and ClickFunnels is not. Among online course platforms, Systeme.io's $17 entry plan ranks 7th cheapest of 25 with a verified price, against a category median of $36 a month, per Toolradar's course platform statistics.

Plans and limits read on both vendors' pricing pages, October 21, 2026.

What each plan costs

ClickFunnels starts where Systeme.io stops. Its three monthly plans are Launch at $97, Scale at $197 and Optimize at $297. On annual billing the help center prints the yearly charge for each plan, including $1,970 for Scale and $2,970 for Optimize, shown on the pricing page as $81, $164 and $248 a month for the three plans. Dominate is sold only by the year at $5,997.

Systeme.io runs four public plans. Free costs nothing, Startup is $17 a month, Webinar $47 and Unlimited matches the price of ClickFunnels Launch, with a custom plan for teams that needs a sales call. Annual billing gives two months free: the checkout pages charge $170 a year for Startup, $470 for Webinar, and the Unlimited annual plan charges exactly what ClickFunnels charges for a year of Launch.

Billing ClickFunnels entry (Launch) Systeme.io Startup Systeme.io Unlimited
Monthly, 12 months $1,164 $204 $1,164
Annual, per year $970 $170 $970

Monthly totals are our arithmetic on the printed monthly prices; annual figures are the vendors' printed yearly charges.

The bottom row is the core of this matchup. A year of Systeme.io with no caps on contacts, funnels or automations costs the same as a year of ClickFunnels' smallest plan, which caps contacts and has no automation rules at all. For a solo seller, that makes ClickFunnels hard to justify on price alone. Neither vendor takes a cut of your sales: ClickFunnels says it charges no percentage, and Systeme.io lists 0% transaction fees on every plan.

What the entry plans leave out

ClickFunnels Launch is a funnel and page builder with email, not the full machine. Its feature table marks automations, countdown funnels, conversion boosters, calendars and appointments, the custom code editor and webhooks as missing on Launch; all of them arrive on Scale. Advanced workflows and the Affiliate Center, which lets you recruit affiliates to sell your offer, start on Optimize.

What Launch does include is generous in its own way: unlimited funnels and landing pages, unlimited visitors, 3 courses, 1 store, 5 custom domains, 2 team members, group onboarding calls and 1,000,000 AI words. For a marketer who mainly ships sales pages and checkouts, that is a full kit.

Systeme.io inverts the pattern. Its free plan already includes an affiliate program, deadline funnels, 1-click upsells, order bumps and 1 automation rule, but caps how many of each you get. Startup raises most counts to 10 (funnels, automation rules, A/B tests, upsells), Webinar to 50 or 100 and adds 10 evergreen webinars, and Unlimited removes the caps.

The free plan carries two limits that are easy to miss. Systeme.io's terms cap free accounts at $10,000 in lifetime sales, and the course side allows 500 students before you need Startup. An account with no login for 6 months loses its customer data after a grace month, per the restriction help article.

Contacts and email: where the bill grows

Both tools price by contacts, but they react differently when you pass the limit. ClickFunnels caps contacts and monthly email sends together: 10,000 contacts and 50,000 emails on Launch, 75,000 and 300,000 on Scale, 150,000 and 750,000 on Optimize. A full Launch list mailed twice a week already sends more than 80,000 emails a month by our arithmetic, so Launch suits a seller who emails lightly, not a daily sender.

Systeme.io never caps sends. It caps contacts at 2,000 on Free, 5,000 on Startup and 10,000 on Webinar, with no limit on Unlimited. When a paid account goes over, Systeme.io sends three daily warnings and then moves the subscription to the next tier automatically, according to its help center. A Startup account that hits 5,001 contacts becomes a Webinar account, at $47 a month, unless you clean the list first. Free accounts are restricted instead, which stops opt-ins and payments until you upgrade or delete contacts.

MarketingShot itself is sent on beehiiv, which is neither of these tools. For a newsletter-first business, the best email marketing software ranking compares dedicated senders.

Four setups, priced for a year

Here is what each tool costs, picking the cheapest plan whose printed limits fit. Annual billing in every row.

Setup ClickFunnels plan, annual Systeme.io plan, annual
Coach with 1,500 contacts, 2 funnels, 1 course Launch, $970 Free, $0
Course creator, 4,000 contacts, welcome automation Scale, $1,970 Startup, $170
Same, plus affiliates selling the course Optimize, $2,970 Startup, $170
Info business, 25,000 contacts, unlimited funnels Scale, $1,970 Unlimited, $970

Our choice of plans against each vendor's limits, prices read October 21, 2026.

The second and third rows decide most purchases. A course creator who needs one welcome sequence pays for Scale on ClickFunnels because Launch has no automation rules, and one who wants affiliates pays for Optimize. On Systeme.io the same creator stays on Startup.

The last row is the closest, and it is where ClickFunnels starts to justify itself. Scale includes 75,000 contacts, 5 team members, priority and live chat support and 2,000,000 AI words. Systeme.io stays cheaper at this size, so what the extra money buys on ClickFunnels is the team seats, the support tier and the AI allowance, not reach.

Where each one falls short

  • ClickFunnels: no free plan, and the entry plan has no automation rules, no calendars and no affiliate tool. Launch also caps email at 50,000 sends a month. The Affiliate Center and advanced workflows cost $297 a month or more.
  • Systeme.io: the free plan stops taking payments past $10,000 in lifetime sales, and paid accounts that pass their contact limit are upgraded for you. Funnels, courses and A/B tests are counted on every plan below Unlimited, so a busy Startup account runs out of room at 10 funnels and 5 courses.

Support, training and team features

Hands-on help is where ClickFunnels pulls ahead. Every ClickFunnels plan includes group onboarding calls and a training library; Scale adds priority and live chat support, Optimize adds a private one-hour onboarding call and Dominate three hours plus VIP support, SSO and a dedicated email IP.

Systeme.io lists 24/7 email support, says its team answers within two hours on average, and offers free migration from another platform. Team access works through unlimited assistant accounts and unlimited sub-accounts on every plan, including Free, so a virtual assistant does not cost a seat. ClickFunnels counts team members: 2 on Launch, 5 on Scale, 10 on Optimize.

ClickFunnels also gives more room to try it. The help article describes a 14-day free trial followed by a 30-day money-back guarantee, 44 days in total. Systeme.io relies on its free plan instead, which never expires; cancelling a paid plan returns the account to Free at the next billing date.

Who should pick which

  • Pick Systeme.io if you run courses, a list that fits the Webinar plan or an affiliate offer on a tight budget. Free covers a first launch, Startup covers most solo businesses, and Unlimited costs the same as one ClickFunnels entry plan.
  • Pick ClickFunnels if a team of three to five builds funnels together, you want live chat support and onboarding, or you will use the AI tools heavily. Start on Scale rather than Launch if you need any automation.
  • Pick neither if you only need landing pages: the best landing page builders ranking covers cheaper page tools such as Leadpages and testing-focused Unbounce.

For more depth, the ClickFunnels review covers its builder and the Dominate plan, and Kajabi is the course-first rival to both. Affiliate-heavy sellers should compare the best affiliate marketing software, creators can browse creator monetization tools, and anyone starting from zero subscribers can begin with how to grow an email list from zero. Toolradar keeps a ClickFunnels alternatives list too.

How we compared

We read ClickFunnels' pricing page and its pricing help article, and Systeme.io's pricing page, annual checkout pages, terms and account restriction help article, on October 21, 2026. Toolradar figures come from its landing page and course platform statistics the same day. Twelve-month totals and the setup table are our arithmetic on list prices. MarketingShot runs no test lab and used neither tool for this page, so every feature is what the vendor prints. Our approach is on how we rate.

FAQ

Is Systeme.io cheaper than ClickFunnels?

Yes, at every level. Systeme.io has a free plan, Startup at $17 a month and Webinar at $47, and its Unlimited plan costs the same as ClickFunnels Launch on both monthly and annual billing while removing the caps on contacts, funnels and automations. A buyer comparing like with like gets far more room on Systeme.io for the same money.

Does ClickFunnels have a free plan?

No. ClickFunnels offers a 14-day free trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee after it, then bills Launch, its cheapest plan, monthly or annually. Systeme.io's free plan has no time limit and needs no credit card, which makes it the cheaper way to test a first funnel.

What are the limits of the Systeme.io free plan?

The free plan allows 2,000 contacts, 3 sales funnels, 1 course with up to 500 students, 1 custom domain and 1 automation rule, with unlimited email sends. Its terms cap free accounts at $10,000 in lifetime sales; after that you have 3 days to upgrade before payment pages stop taking orders.

Does ClickFunnels Launch include email automation?

ClickFunnels Launch includes email marketing with 10,000 contacts and 50,000 sends a month, but its feature table marks automations as missing. Automations start on Scale at $197 a month, or $1,970 a year on annual billing, and advanced workflows on Optimize.

Can I run an affiliate program on either tool?

Yes. Systeme.io includes an affiliate program on every plan, Free included. ClickFunnels includes its Affiliate Center from Optimize, at $297 a month or $2,970 a year on annual billing.

What happens if I go over my contact limit?

On Systeme.io, a paid account gets three daily warnings and is then moved to the next plan automatically, while a free account is restricted until you upgrade or remove contacts. ClickFunnels lists a contact cap and a monthly email cap on each plan, so a growing list means moving up a tier.
