OptinMonster Pricing 2026: Intro Price vs Renewal
OptinMonster pricing in 2026: $108 to $804 for the first year, renewing at $210 to $1,470 a year, plus monthly rates, plan limits and a three-year cost.

After the first year, OptinMonster renews at $210 a year on Basic, $570 on Plus, $870 on Pro and $1,470 on Growth. The first year costs far less: $108, $324, $444 and $804, shown on the pricing page as $9, $27, $37 and $67 a month billed annually. Monthly billing runs $21 to $147 a month. Prices read October 21, 2026.
That gap is the whole story of OptinMonster's pricing. The headline $9 is an introductory rate, and the page's own footnote says renewals are at full price, so the second-year bill on every plan is between 76% and 96% higher than the first (our arithmetic from the listed prices). Budget the renewal, not the banner.
Prices come from OptinMonster's annual pricing page and its monthly pricing page, with billing rules from its terms of service, all read on October 21, 2026.
Toolradar data: on OptinMonster's Toolradar profile, 18 of the 37 A/B testing tools tracked have a free plan and OptinMonster is not one of them, while it is listed as an alternative to 8 other tools, #9 of 37 in that category, as of October 2026. Marketers who want a free starting tier have to look elsewhere.

How much does OptinMonster cost per plan?

| Plus | $324 | $570 | $57/mo | 10,000 | 2 |
| Pro | $444 | $870 | $87/mo | 25,000 | 3 |

| Enterprise | Custom quote | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom |
Every plan includes unlimited campaigns and access to OptinMonster University. Enterprise adds dedicated support and an optional Okta SSO login, priced by quote.
How much does OptinMonster cost after the first year?
The renewal is the list price, and the first year is a discount on it. OptinMonster's terms say discount codes apply only to the first term of a subscription and that afterwards "subscriptions will be charged the regular price." In practice, the price on the banner is a one-year coupon, and the renewal row is what the plan really costs.
| Plan | Renewal jump | Effective monthly cost at renewal |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | +94% | $17.50 |
| Plus | +76% | $47.50 |
| Pro | +96% | $72.50 |
| Growth | +83% | $122.50 |
The jump column and the monthly equivalents are our arithmetic from the listed annual prices. Pro carries the steepest renewal of the four, nearly doubling, which matters because Pro is the first plan with exit-intent popups (more on that below).
Two terms make the renewal hard to undo. Plans renew automatically unless you cancel before the subscription period ends, and the refund policy says renewals are not eligible for refunds. The 14-day money-back guarantee covers only the first purchase, so a forgotten renewal date costs the full year.
Put the renewal date in a calendar the day you buy. A year is long enough to know whether the popups paid for themselves, and that is the moment to compare the renewal price against the alternatives at the end of this page.
Monthly vs annual billing: is the 50% saving real?
The pricing page FAQ says annual subscriptions "are 50% less than monthly ones." That holds for the first year only. Twelve months of Basic on monthly billing come to $252, so the intro year saves 57%, but against the renewal price the saving shrinks to 17% (our arithmetic).
The same pattern runs through every plan. On Pro, a year of monthly billing is $1,044, so the renewal saves $174, a sixth of the monthly total rather than a half. Annual billing is still the cheaper choice, but the second year is closer to the monthly price than the FAQ suggests.
Monthly billing makes sense in one case: you want to run OptinMonster for a single campaign season, such as a holiday sale, and cancel. The terms bill the full month in which you cancel, so time the cancellation for the end of a billing month.
What does each plan include?
The plan limits that matter most are features, not impressions. Read the feature matrix on the pricing page before taking the cheapest plan.
- Basic covers the core form types (lightbox popups, floating bars, inline and sidebar forms, slide-ins, fullscreen overlays), AI popups, scroll and time triggers, and simple analytics. Its integrations line reads only MonsterLeads, OptinMonster's own lead storage, so check that your email platform connects before relying on it.
- Plus adds integrated A/B testing, yes/no multi-step forms, content locking, device targeting, InactivitySensor and full reporting.
- Pro adds Exit Intent technology, cart and form abandonment, campaign scheduling, countdown timers, UTM and referral targeting, Zapier, two sub-accounts, and removal of the OptinMonster badge.
- Growth adds Shopify and WooCommerce campaigns, coupon wheels, the ManyChat integration, OnSite Retargeting, geolocation targeting, custom branding and unlimited sub-accounts with client logins.
Exit intent, the feature OptinMonster is best known for, starts on Pro. A marketer who buys Basic or Plus for an exit popup will find it missing and pay the Pro price to get it. For a store, coupon wheels and the Shopify and WooCommerce campaigns sit only on Growth, so ecommerce teams should price from that plan.
Plus is the cheapest way to A/B test a popup. Our best A/B testing tools ranking covers dedicated testing platforms if you need to test whole pages rather than forms.
What happens if you go over your impression limit?
OptinMonster counts an impression each time a visitor sees a campaign, not each pageview. Its FAQ says campaigns are never switched off when you exceed the limit, but "when available, we will automatically upgrade you to the next tier." Above Growth, it moves you to a custom plan and contacts you.
That automatic upgrade is the second cost trap. A site that outgrows Basic's 2,500 monthly impressions can be moved to Plus, which renews at more than two and a half times the Basic price. OptinMonster recommends choosing a plan with 20% to 30% more impressions than your pageviews, so size the plan to your traffic before the first renewal rather than after.
For a blog doing 20,000 pageviews a month, that rule points to Pro, not Plus, before a single exit popup is built. The guide to growing an email list from zero covers how many signup forms a small site needs to begin with.

What OptinMonster costs over three years
The scenario below is one site that keeps the same plan for three years, with the intro year followed by two renewals, compared with three years of monthly billing. List prices only, before tax.
| Plan | Three years, annual billing | Three years, monthly billing |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | $528 | $756 |
| Plus | $1,464 | $2,052 |
| Pro | $2,184 | $3,132 |
| Growth | $3,744 | $5,292 |
All figures are our arithmetic from OptinMonster's printed prices. Over three years, the intro discount covers less than a fifth of the Pro bill, so the honest monthly cost of Pro on annual billing is about $61, not the $37 on the banner.
How OptinMonster compares on price
Two popular popup tools print their annual prices as a standing yearly-billing discount rather than a first-year offer. Usage units differ: OptinMonster counts campaign impressions, Poptin counts website visitors and Hello Bar counts popup views.
| Tool | Entry paid plan, billed annually | Allowance | Free plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| OptinMonster Plus | $324 first year, then renewal at list | 10,000 impressions a month | None |
| Poptin Basic | $240 a year | 10,000 visitors a month | 1,000 visitors a month |
| Hello Bar Growth | $29/mo billed annually ($348 a year) | 50,000 popup views a month | 5,000 lifetime views |
Prices read on Poptin's pricing page and Hello Bar's pricing page, October 21, 2026; Hello Bar's yearly figure is our arithmetic. Hello Bar includes A/B testing on every paid plan, per its pricing page, which undercuts OptinMonster's Plus requirement for testing.
OptinMonster's case is depth of targeting: exit intent, OnSite Retargeting and cart abandonment are mature features, and Growth bundles agency tools like client logins. If you only need a signup bar and a simple popup, the renewal price buys features you will not use. The catalog records are Poptin and Hello Bar on Toolradar.
Popups feed a list, so the platform behind them is the bigger bill. See Kit pricing, Mailchimp pricing, the best free email marketing software and the best newsletter growth tools. FAQ
How much does OptinMonster cost after the first year?
OptinMonster renews at its full list price: $210 a year on Basic, $570 on Plus, $870 on Pro and $1,470 on Growth. The first year is discounted, so the second-year bill is 76% to 96% higher depending on the plan. Prices were read on OptinMonster's pricing page on October 21, 2026.
Is OptinMonster's $9 a month price real?
Yes, but only for the first year of Basic, billed annually as $108. The page footnote says the price is introductory and renewals are at full price, which makes Basic $17.50 a month on renewal, and Basic does not include exit-intent popups.
Does OptinMonster have a free plan or free trial?
No free plan is listed. Every paid plan carries a 14-day money-back guarantee instead, and OptinMonster's terms exclude renewals from refunds, so the guarantee protects the first purchase only.
Which OptinMonster plan includes exit intent?
Exit Intent starts on Pro, which costs $444 for the first year and renews at $870. Basic and Plus do not include it. Growth includes it along with OnSite Retargeting, coupon wheels and the Shopify and WooCommerce campaigns.
Can I pay for OptinMonster monthly?
Yes. Monthly billing costs $21 on Basic, $57 on Plus, $87 on Pro and $147 on Growth. Twelve months of monthly billing cost more than either the intro year or the renewal on the same plan.
What happens if I exceed my OptinMonster impressions?
Campaigns keep running, but OptinMonster says it will automatically upgrade you to the next tier when one is available. Above Growth's 100,000 monthly impressions it moves you to a custom plan, so pick a plan with headroom over your pageviews.
