Instagram muscles into YouTube's long-form turf LINK

  • Instagram is testing a product called Features that lets select US creators post videos up to 90 minutes long, pushing the app further into the long-form territory that YouTube dominates.
  • The product targets podcasters, comedians and similar creators, who can link their short Reels of three minutes or less to a full video, so viewers who see a clip can click through and watch the whole thing.
  • Instagram already tested Features with creators in Brazil and plans to reach tens of thousands in the US, with videos recommended on the Explore page and the viewing moving to Instagram for TV, now expanding to Apple TV.

Google now writes AI review blurbs into your Search ads LINK

  • Google now adds AI-generated review summaries straight into Search ads, pulling positive customer feedback from across the web to show short endorsements next to an advertiser's listing.
  • A new help document, About Review summaries, explains that Google's AI gathers online reviews automatically and turns them into brief commentary within eligible Search campaign ads, covering all ad positions on Google.com.
  • The feature runs in the US, Australia, UK and India in English, across most advertiser categories but not sensitive ones like pharmaceuticals, letting businesses gain credibility without users visiting their websites.

Cloudflare is about to reshape how AI finds your site LINK

  • Cloudflare is set to change how AI systems find and surface websites, rolling out tools at Cloudflare Connect 2026 that let webmasters track and control agentic and AI search traffic.
  • New features include an AI Search Index that site owners opt into, AI Crawl Control serving bots a static page and showing which crawls become traffic, and an AEO Performance dashboard priced at $20 a month.
  • Research shared at the event found search crawler activity up 116% year over year while training bot activity rose just 7%, and OpenAI sending four times more referral traffic than Anthropic.

Meta Pixel inflates some of your sales counts on Nov 12 LINK

  • From November 12, 2026, Meta will start counting some website purchases on shoppers' own phones and computers through a new Meta Pixel setting called "Measure conversions on customer devices," which is already switched on unless advertisers turn it off.
  • The setting changes where Meta checks whether an ad led to a sale, so part of the match happens on the customer's device using details they shared, such as an email, plus temporary non-identifying device data, with Meta told only that a purchase occurred and which campaign gets credit.
  • Because the toggle turns on by itself for datasets already sending events, sales figures in Ads Manager could rise with no change in the shop, which is why practitioners suggest comparing Meta's counts against real orders and opting out if the numbers stop matching.

Your link-shared pages could leak into Search results LINK

  • Google updated its help document on preventing user-generated spam, telling platforms to apply a noindex rule to pages that users create for sharing by link rather than for public search.
  • The new section, "Only index content meant for Search," says platforms should block pages built for direct sharing, collaboration, or utility using a robots meta tag, X-Robots-Tag HTTP header, or robots.txt by default.
  • Google also expanded the abuse-monitoring section, telling platforms to verify sites in Search Console for alerts and to watch the Page Indexing and Search performance reports for sudden jumps in indexed pages or impressions.

> Google AI Max Lifted Revenue 13%, but CPA Rose 16%: Google's AI Max automation lifts search revenue around 13% but often raises acquisition cost, so marketers must define valuable conversions rather than chase cheap volume.
