Google will verify financial advertisers before some ads run LINK

  • Google will require financial advertisers in the U.S. and Canada to prove they are authorized by regulators or recognized registries before running certain ads, through a new Financial Services Verification program.
  • Expected to start rolling out in early 2027, the program adds a specialist check on top of identity verification, confirming whether an advertiser is a legitimate provider rather than just who sits behind an account.
  • For banks, Google is working with the American Bankers Association and the Canadian Bankers Association, adapting the process country by country, and will notify advertisers with guidance on accepted registries and credentials before enforcement begins.

Safari 27 just blocked a way advertisers track your audience LINK

  • Apple's WebKit team said in a blog post on Monday that Safari and iOS 27 will block the identity resolution systems ad tech and martech vendors use to track people across websites, going beyond its earlier cookie blocking.
  • The block works at the domain level, stopping email addresses and other data from reaching vendor servers, so companies can't rework the structure of a network request to slip past it, as Apple's engineers put it.
  • The policy hits vendors that aren't first-party data owners, such as login providers and newsletter services, and Apple says even the industry's shift to first-party setups won't help because the central identity resolver stays a third party.

Meta's Muse app hit 10M downloads on heavy ad spend LINK

  • Meta's AI agent app Muse reached 10 million US downloads within 40 days of its September 8 release, one of only 12 apps to hit that mark so fast since October 2015, Sensor Tower estimated yesterday.
  • Meta is directing 39% of its October advertising spend to Muse, up from 23% in September, lifting it to the 21st largest US brand by ad impressions this month from 73rd a month earlier.
  • Muse holds 2.5 million US daily active users, yet first-day returns of 73% fall to 23% by day 14, a drop of nearly 50 points against roughly 12 for ChatGPT, Grok and Claude.

Reddit links 80% optimization scores to 19.6% lower CPA LINK

  • Reddit said on October 20, 2026, that advertisers whose campaigns reach an optimization score of 80% or higher paid 19.6% lower blended cost per acquisition than those scoring lower, part of three new planning tools in its Ads Manager.
  • The campaign optimization score rates each campaign from 0 to 100% during creation and editing, giving tailored recommendations; Reddit also said a small rise in the score was linked to a measurably lower blended CPA over its measurement period.
  • The numbers come only from Reddit, which did not explain how it measured them or define "blended CPA," and the score grades how closely a campaign follows recommendations that Reddit itself writes while selling the ad inventory.

Strategies & Tactics

> 3 ways to spend Q4 budget on AI search (and prove it worked by February): Fund AI search as owned infrastructure now because technical fixes and targeted content can move citation visibility within three months, proving results by February.

> Google’s clutterScore: The hidden SEO risk bloggers can’t afford to ignore: Audit blogs for intrusive pop-ups and ad clutter, since Google's leaked clutterScore signal suggests site-wide distractions may quietly drag down search rankings.

> TikTok shares Black Friday/Cyber Monday promotion tips: Partner with large numbers of creators and host live shopping streams to boost holiday sales, since TikTok's data shows both drive big revenue gains.

> It’s time to re-think voice of the customer programs: Replace long customer surveys with real-time systems that pair actual behavior with sentiment to predict needs and act while customers are still engaged.
