🛒 OpenAI adds product feed ads to ChatGPT
LINK
|
- OpenAI has rolled out product feed ads inside ChatGPT, letting retailers connect their catalogues so the platform automatically builds sponsored placements using product names, images and attributes instead of requiring manually built campaigns.
- The same product data that informs ChatGPT's organic answers now also powers paid ads, mirroring how shopping campaigns run on Google and removing a major scaling barrier for retailers with large inventories.
- The update follows cost-per-click bidding and new conversion tracking tools, with cost-per-action models reportedly in development, signalling OpenAI's push to capture ad budgets currently spent on Amazon and Meta.

✈️ TikTok GO turns travel discovery into bookings
LINK
|
- TikTok GO, now live in the US, lets people book hotels, tours, attractions, and other local experiences inside the app, with partners that include Booking.com, Expedia, Viator, GetYourGuide, Tiqets, and Trip.com.
- The feature surfaces lodging and things to do across videos, search, and location pages, moving users from a clip to availability and booking in a few taps without leaving TikTok.
- Creators who feature hotels, attractions, and local services can tie their content to bookings and earn through commissions and creator campaigns, turning travel recommendations into a form of affiliate commerce built around native video.

📺 Google Ads auto-links YouTube channels June 10
LINK
|
- Starting June 10, 2026, Google will automatically link Google Ads accounts to their associated YouTube channels, removing the manual setup step and giving advertisers default access to video engagement data and targeting features.
- Once linked, advertisers can see organic video metrics like view counts inside Google Ads and build audience segments based on how users interact with YouTube content, from video views to channel engagement.
- The integration also tracks earned actions such as subscriptions or extra views driven by ads, letting advertisers use those engagements as conversion signals and measure video campaign influence beyond clicks.

⚖️ EU court backs publishers in Meta copyright fight
LINK
|
- The European Union's top court has sided with publishers against Meta, ruling that news organizations are entitled to fair compensation when platforms like Facebook display excerpts of their articles online.
- The decision in case C-797/23 stems from a challenge by Meta against Italian regulator AGCOM, which set rules requiring online platforms to pay publishers for using snippets of news content.
- The ruling lands amid lawsuits from media companies and authors against OpenAI, Anthropic, and Meta, the latter accused last week of training its Llama AI models on pirated books without permission or payment.

🚨 Fake Trump and Oprah ads fuel Medicare scams on Facebook
LINK
|
- A new report from the Center for Countering Digital Hate says Meta is letting scammers repeatedly buy Facebook and Instagram ads that use fake images of Trump, Oprah Winfrey, Brad Pitt and others to target seniors with Medicare scams.
- Ads from 30 of the most active scam accounts produced an estimated 215 million impressions over the past year, with 73% of those impressions coming from users over 65, according to the report shared with NBC News.
- The center tracked about $12.4 million in Medicare-related scam ads and $14.3 million overall, while Meta said it removed 159 million scam ads last year, taking down 92% before anyone reported them.
