  • Google is testing an AI label on some mobile search ads, spotted by SEO researcher Brodie Clark in two variants: one with a rounded pill background and another with an information icon, though tapping it shows no information.
  • Separately, SERP Alert documented on April 22, 2026 that sponsored ads now appear inside the "related products" grid on standard desktop search results, a surface that previously showed only organic product listings for shopping queries.
  • The related products grid carries a section-level "Sponsored" header rather than per-tile labels used in the Shopping tab and AI Mode, adding a fourth paid grid surface after AI Mode, main results, and the Shopping tab.

  • Vistar's in-house creative studio reworks app ads for horizontal or static screens and can add user interactions like likes and comments, while sticking to TikTok's strict controls over brand assets and creator attribution.

🚨 US healthcare marketplaces leaked sensitive data to ad tech LINK
  • An investigation by Bloomberg found that nearly all 20 U.S. state-run health insurance marketplaces passed residents' application details to advertising and tech firms, including Google, LinkedIn, Meta, Snap, and TikTok, through pixel-sized trackers on their websites.
  • New York's exchange shared whether applicants had incarcerated family members, while Washington, D.C. sent email addresses, phone numbers, country identifiers, and partially masked race data to TikTok's pixel tracker before pausing the rollout.
  • Virginia pulled the Meta tracker from its site after it was caught sharing ZIP codes, a disclosure that matters given more than seven million Americans bought health insurance for this year through a state exchange.
