🛍️ Google launches conversational ads in AI Mode
LINK
|
- Google revealed at I/O 2026 that it is bringing Gemini-powered conversational ads into AI Mode, ending the ad-free run of its AI search experience and mixing dynamic ad formats with regular results.
- The company is testing two ad formats that answer specific queries with Gemini-generated responses, such as building tailored creative for a search about making a house smell like a high-end spa, all marked with "Sponsored" labels.
- When AI Mode produces a list of recommendations, it will slot in "highly relevant, high-quality ads" as a "Highlighted Answer," a move Google ties to its finding that 75% of people make faster, more confident decisions using AI Mode.

📺 Amazon DSP auto-picks streaming TV deals
LINK
|
- Amazon DSP rolled out automatic deal selection on April 15, 2026, a machine-learning feature that picks, activates, and updates programmatic deals for Streaming TV campaigns without buyers having to browse options manually.
- The feature is restricted at launch to United States self-service advertisers running Streaming TV campaigns with an Awareness goal and Reach KPI, accessible through the ADSP Self Service interface and the Amazon Ads Public API.
- During the campaign flight, the system regularly monitors performance, adding high-performing deals and removing under-performing ones from the curated group, replacing manual review of hundreds of deals that previously favored existing publisher relationships.

🤖 Bad AI customer bots threaten brand trust
LINK
|
- Bad AI customer bots are putting brand trust at risk, with new Sinch research showing that 74% of enterprises have already been forced to roll back a deployed AI agent because of governance failures.
- Companies with the most mature guardrails rolled back at an even higher rate of 81%, and 84% of teams spend at least half their engineering time rebuilding safety infrastructure from scratch instead of improving customer experience.
- When an AI agent fails, 35% of the impact lands on the support queue and 34% hits brand perception, while 62% of enterprises already run AI communications agents in production and 88% plan to deploy one within 12 months.

📊 The programmatic auction is changing in real time
LINK
|
- Generative AI is reshaping the programmatic auction in real time, pushing sell-side platforms, DSPs, publishers and agencies to rework how impressions move through a fragmented supply chain built over nearly 20 years of RTB.
- OpenX has started reducing reselling layers to protect bid-request signal quality, after finding that up to 72 companies sometimes touch a single piece of inventory before it reaches a buyer.
- SSPs are applying AI to predict revenue yield and shape traffic, while DSPs like Yahoo break planning, activation and measurement into modular workflows, though AI-generated synthetic sites are now entering programmatic pipes at scale.

📰 AI search pushes 44.8% of brands to spend more on PR
LINK
|
- A new Outcomes Rocket benchmark of 858 marketing and PR professionals finds that 44.8% of organisations have raised their PR spending as a direct response to AI-driven search, with 9.0% reporting significant increases to their budgets.
- The report shows 72.5% of organisations are using PR to build AEO signals (Authority, Expertise, Trustworthiness) that AI systems weigh when citing sources, though only 21.8% treat AEO as a defined strategic priority.
- PR receives an average of 14% of total marketing budgets, yet only 13.1% of organisations share earned media coverage with sales teams and just 14.4% track URL-level data to measure how placements affect traffic or conversions.
